You can see in the second half of this game that there's not a big talent disparity on the field. We were totally unprepared. That's on the coaching staff. Losing our qb1 obviously didn't help either
NW took their foot off the pedal. Huge disparity in player talent. They have better coaches too, at least with talent eval. Maybe not a big disparity in NIL though.

This is not all on the OL. Game is still moving too fast for AJ. He has had multiple open targets on these sacks.
The thing about the word ‘still is that for some players, the game never speeds up enough. Just like players can only run as fast as their bodies let them, the way the way the mind works is no different.

everything Greg blathered about in the preseason was straight up lying. Not stretching the truth but straight up lying.

1) most OL depth he’s ever had
2) both QBs are playing really well in camp, making it hard on them to choose
3) the defense will be better this yeae
4) he was always targeting Johansson but didn’t think he would come since he was a head coach

he’s literally just been making stuff up.
I think he believed certain things. That said, I cannot imagine that Johannson would have thought for more than 2 seconds about trading up a 300k salary for a 2-3 year contract at 1.3 million a year. He can get fired this year and retire if he feels like it.

Agreed. 3 years in should tell the staff that the game more than likely will never slow down for AJ. May look great in drills. But is a deer in headlights when the lights come on.

Boils my blood when media keeps the narrative of “RU should be kicked out “ , “nobody cares about RU in NJ/NYC”.

We continue to get really good crowds for bball and football. Regardless of decades of poor results. While MD and NW are a joke for attendance and interest .
There are 20,000 Season Ticket Holders. It’s a tired troupe when opponents focus on empty seats not their own deficiencies. Maybe some choose to enjoy the weather instead of coming out for a less than exciting match up. Rutgers must have have 14 people in the stands.

To be fair, we focus on our own empty seats and deficiencies at the same time. First page of our home game threads are usually full of comments and pics of our empty seats

Being totally honest - that is a great f'n response.
I'm definitely stealing that.

Forget any prior differences.
Home run line right there.

Is that from something?
Like most guys that grew up in the 1980s, most of what I say in conversation is stolen from a movie or tv show ... so it probably a stolen line. But I've been using it for so long, I can't remember. It sounds like something De Niro might have said in Midnight Run or Ronin. Chevy Chase, maybe?

I won’t speak to the dynamics here but there are definitely situations where ADs can be big footed by donors or the president or governor lol (in the case of LSU).
And here's a perfect example. It's not to say all donors are like this and of course if you donate substantive money you might like some influence but some can be over the top in just how much influence. Some quietly donate and stay in the background.

From the article:

But on a more local level, Campbell's postgame tweet is an eyebrow raiser for head coach Joey McGuire and athletic director Kirby Hocutt. They serve at the pleasure of their money man, and even though Texas Tech is a 6-1 football team with a good chance (still) to make the CFP, his social media muscles did not suggest a lot of patience or understanding for a bad day at the office.

I turned this game on for a second during my lunch break, saw them down 28-3. Kicked the FG at the end of the half and that was the end of my viewership.

Just now looked at the box score. That Surace line is brutal. Ashenfelder? Who? Somehow just as bad, maybe worse? I dunno.

But we ran the ball for 8 ypc? 266 yards between the two RB's. That can't all be garbage time yards was it?

Ashenfelder threw a perfect TD pass that was dropped by the Rutgers receiver.
