No one is bigger than the program but someone is bigger for a season. I would say you do it if it's the stipulation.
I think people will buy in regardless because it will be the last year of Kamario. I know I would even though I'm over Lebby. Kamario can hind offensive line struggles, an average defense, and coaching deficiencies. He's that good....when healthy.Regardless? No way. There's plenty of time left for Lebby to show that he can respond to adversity or that he's clueless and loses the team. I don't think even Kamario is going to be able to rally the troops for offseason momentum if Lebby embarrass us the rest of the season.
I'd be fine with it as long as the guys that write the big checks will support KT with a quality OL and DL (the 2 biggest weaknesses in Lebby era). If they aren't on board to make that happen, it'll just be one more year of frustration and likely wasting KTs potential in college.I think people will buy in regardless because it will be the last year of Kamario. I know I would even though I'm over Lebby. Kamario can hind offensive line struggles, an average defense, and coaching deficiencies. He's that good....when healthy.
Finish 6-6 or better first. No one is bigger than the program but someone is bigger for a season. I would say you do it if it's the stipulation.
This statement is a juxtaposition. He can’t hide OL deficiencies when healthy, because the very existence of those deficiencies is the leading cause of him eventually becoming unhealthy.Kamario can hind offensive line struggles, an average defense, and coaching deficiencies. He's that good....when healthy.
If I’m Selmon, I’m not tying my career to a coach and a player and hoping for improvement that all the available data says is not coming. But I’m not Zac SelmonNo one is bigger than the program but someone is bigger for a season. I would say you do it if it's the stipulation.
If he is a tied to KT as we are told, then you have no choice. It has become obvious that without KT we are awful. KT is all that matters. If he wants Lebby then you keep him.
Yea, I've come to the conclusion that Lebby is a good play caller/schemer on offense. That's his strength. As far as anything else related to being a HC, he appears to be lacking.Yes.
First, he's not getting fired this year anyway. Some of you guys are just setting yourselves up for another opportunity to be mad online.
Secondly, we were explosive offensively with Kamario. Lebby can coach offense.
Thirdly, and I know how much it pains many of you to hear this, the defense is improved. We've held opponents to under their scoring average in 5 of 7 games. And three of these games have been with our anemic offense consistently putting the defense in terrible positions.
Boosters have seen what we can be with a healthy Kamario. It's going to be all in this portal cycle. Big year next year, and a slight chance that we get Kamario back for 2028. I think NFL teams would prefer to see a quarterback get more than one full season in college. Even when healthy, he's got a fair amount to clean up.
Are you suggesting that promoting Arnett to preserve the class might not have been the right call?***General rule, no you never keep a coach for a player. I don't think we can afford to let Kamario leave though. Easy decision is if we win 6 games, we're keeping him anyway. Only comes into play if we go 5-7.
There's plenty of time left for Lebby to show that he can respond to adversity or that he's clueless and loses the team.
If he is a tied to KT as we are told
mostly agree with this........except for the situation of what if we fire Lebby and get a coach that has shown he can manage of grow the talents of a K1No one is bigger than the program but someone is bigger for a season. I would say you do it if it's the stipulation.
Actually it is has been reported on Finebaum, on social media, and quite a few other places that they have a close relationship. I do not care about Lebby in the least, but the fact is that if Kamario likes him, and is comfortable playing for him, then you have to keep him. Personally I would love to see us gut Heavy, bring in Dickert, and offer Kamario enough money to make him happy either way.Who's telling us that though? Kamario, nope. Lebby, nope. Selmon, nope. Keenum, nope. Average "Joe's" like you and me are saying that and we don't know squat.............
Yep. If we don't do this, and maybe even 7-5, the team may fall apart and anybody decent starts transferring.Finish 6-6 or better first.
Kinda like our basketball situation. Just have to do it no matter what.K1 leaves and plays even kind of well somewhere else, you’ve buried the program worse than 3 consecutive Crooms. So whatever it takes to keep him, you do.
...marketing department, enrollment department, restaurants, hotels, general Starkville real estate market, etc. etc. etc.You do whatever KT wants. He's currently the most important person in our athletic dept.
NoNo one is bigger than the program but someone is bigger for a season. I would say you do it if it's the stipulation.
I reject the question because I don't think a lifelong MSU who committed to Arnett and Barbay will have a hissy fit and quit over Lebby rightfully getting fired.
He may leave for money (hopefully not), but I just don't see him as 100% tied to Lebby.
