Not defending Selmon, but that’s kind of like saying, outside of circumnavigating the globe, what else did Magellan really do?Why do I hear some people praise Selmon?
Wow, so you clearly think that was all Selmon, not our boosters paying whatever it takes and program/facilities selling O’Connor to make a statement like that. Not defending Selmon, but that’s kind of like saying, outside of circumnavigating the globe, what else did Magellan really do?
I must be too old because I’m not seeing the coolness. I’m seeing our brand dying.O Connor wasn’t that great of a hire number one. It was good but expected. Number two. Selmon has elevated NIL, resources, better marketing and overall coolness, etc , etc.
If he doesn’t fire Loser Lard Lebtard, then you can complain. But Selmon has crushed it so far.
It’s the best hire in any sport in Mississippi state history. It’s embarrassing hear some of our fans be so stupid. This is also dumb. Oak is not “circumnavigating the globe” sometimes it’s embarrassing to hear some of our fans try to sound smart.
Wow, so you clearly think that was all Selmon, not our boosters paying whatever it takes and program/facilities selling O’Connor to make a statement like that.
This is just moving the goalposts. Selmon is the AD. He gets the credit. I don’t see you coming after the boosters for your issues with Lebby. Be consistent.I must be too old because I’m not seeing the coolness. I’m seeing our brand dying.
We made O’Connor the 2nd highest paid baseball coach in the country and we have the best facilities in the country. Getting him under those circumstances is not as earth shattering as you seem to think. It’s the best hire in any sport in Mississippi state history. It’s embarrassing hear some of our fans be so stupid.
What does that even mean? This is just moving the goalposts. Selmon is the AD. He gets the credit. I don’t see you coming after the boosters for your issues with Lebby. Be consistent.
We were told by many folks that Selmon didn't have **** to do with hiring BOC. Selmon admitted to knowing nothing about baseball. So does he get credit? Serious question? I don't know. Why do I hear some people praise Selmon?
In not saying Selmon had nothing to do with it. But In the circumstances that was a very very easy hire to make.If a coach is hired that is successful, Selmon has nothing to do with it. If a coach is hired that is not successful, it’s all Selmon’s fault.
It’s exactly as earth shattering as I think. The last coaching hire cycle for baseball we were fed the same line. We are elite. We will hire an elite coach. I think O’Connor was on the list then. We ended up with Chris Lemonis and nobody knew who he was.We made O’Connor the 2nd highest paid baseball coach in the country and we have the best facilities in the country. Getting him under those circumstances is not as earth shattering as you seem to think.
Because he's taken our NIL from zero to close to $40MM next season and was turned down by just about everybody last time he tried to hire a coach because of that zero number and our shitting situation. He's got to go make a real hire now.Why do I hear some people praise Selmon?
But many people said prior to Lemonis being fired that Selmon wouldn't be making the baseball coach choice. If a coach is hired that is successful, Selmon has nothing to do with it. If a coach is hired that is not successful, it’s all Selmon’s fault.
He designed some good stuff for academy.**Not defending Selmon, but that’s kind of like saying, outside of circumnavigating the globe, what else did Magellan really do?
You do realize during last coaching cycle we offered $600k and O’Connor got $2.9M? But it had nothing to do with that, it was all Selmon, huh? It’s exactly as earth shattering as I think. See Flotown’s post. I’m tired of explaining simple concepts. What does that even mean?
Selmon is the AD. He gets the credit for the hire. Period. You do realize during last coaching cycle we offered $600k and O’Connor got $2.9M? But it had nothing to do with that, it was all Selmon, huh?
His post is logical, yours makes no sense.See Flotown’s post. I’m tired of explaining simple concepts.
In your simple mind it probably does.Selmon is the AD. He gets the credit for the hire. Period.
Okay, fine. Then refer to his post. His post is logical, yours makes no sense.
Who gets credit for it in your highly complex and oh so insightful mind?In your simple mind it probably does.
Funny you should ask, plenty apparently. Not defending Selmon, but that’s kind of like saying, outside of circumnavigating the globe, what else did Magellan really do?
I'm not on the Selmon bandwagon, but that simply isn't true. Selmon hustled on that deal. He lined up the red carpet treatment and got the money in place pretty quickly. With that said, I wish he had that same energy when it came to hiring football coaches. And O’Connor literally fell into his lap.
“Hello, this is Brian O’Conner, who’s this?”Sappy Salmuhn didn’t hire OC, our boosters did
