I hope that you were able to watch him coach. I hope that you were able to to watch how he gathered his team around him before letting them go to the locker room at halftime. And I hope that you were able to see the passionate coaching he gave them. I hope that you were able to see it and I hope that you were able to realize it’s something that you haven’t had lately.
I guess you didn't see the way he checked out on us. I guess you didn't see the games we should have won that he blew from crap play-calling and game-management. Mullen is still early in his tenure at UNLV and needing to repair his reputation, so he may well be working his *** off now. But just wait, his laziness and selfishness will come back as soon as he starts feeling he is better than he really is.

He'll slowly start to mail-it-in during games. He'll go on and on about demanding his players give, "relentless effort", then give anything but as the HC. The only thing you can count on him to give relentless effort is in his self-promotion.

Mullen was fortunate to have Arkansas and Kentucky as permanent opponents at their lowest. 6-6 was the base record with wins over bad OOC opponents. After his 2nd year he never won an egg bowl when going into that game with a winning record. Good luck to him in his future search for greener pastures
A winning record going into the Egg Bowl anytime in the next decade is a pipe dream for us

Football is a physical game. Under Mullen we generally didn’t have a lot of top 1/3 of the league level skill positions but we had strong guys across the board who were generally more physical than at a minimum the bottom half of the SEC and on a good year the bottom 3/4.

That willl keep you competitive against most teams. Need to get back to what we’ve traditionally been able to have success with. And I’m not just talking football, basketball too.

An AI search shows that even against FBS schools in his first year, he averaged over 23 points a game. That was with a QB that many referred to as the “midget” and then with a backup named Ralph.

The only point quite frankly is that I don’t have that much faith in an offensive genius that loses one player and suddenly we can’t score a touchdown,
All we want is a coach that: 1) Wants to be here 2) Has exp and KNOWS how to win 3) Knows how to outwork and out recruit 4) Can keep his head outta his *** 95% of the time 5) Shaves neck hair 6) Never misses layups

I would absolutely love it if Lebby’s name was at the top of every job search. Anyone that doesn’t want that is against MSU football ever advancing at all.
Fact:

You have the mentality of an abused wife. No one is saying they would not love to have our HC’s name mentioned for every opening. What people are arguing is that they did not appreciate how Mullen had wondering eyes at the end of every season and thus distracted for final games.
He never shot down rumors and this was an issue for recruits. Why would a recruit want to play for a coach that they were not sure he would be the next season? All he had to say was that he was going nowhere even if it was a lie.
None of this even touches the “country club” that everyone here complained about under Mullen.
Now that I have reminded you of all the issues fans suffered through with the abusive Dan Mullen, realize that there are much better options than a re-tread who finally found his greener grass that ultimately rejected him. There should not be any reunions with him.

Huh? The east was much easier for him and he immediately won the division when he got to Florida. Had bama on the ropes in the sec championship game too, remember?
No, he absolutely did not. It took him three years to finally beat Kirby Smart and win the division. He only beat Kirby once and never beat Saban.

Get Mullen back and we'd win a lot more games, and attendance would rise significantly. Those things mean more money for the athletic department. Of course, we'd have to pay Mullen about twice what we pay Lebby now. Mullen is a lot older now, in his 50s? and maybe mature enough to no be job searching while coaching a game (if he was actually doing that before).

Well end up with whichever one doesn't get the Maryland job- Mullen or Huff. We aren't serious about winning football games and the fans showed up right until the part where the Jeff Lebby wheels fell in October like they always do
