If we could get Huff as HC, lebby as OC, and Arnett as DC I would renew my tickets next year. Would never happen but it would make a lot of you happy.

I think Lebby is a great OC, just not a good HC. He doesn't go out and get fan support, makes terrible game time decisions, has made terrible staff decisions.

We'll see what happens. I get growing pains hiring a first time HC but it's like he doesn't give a s....

Lebby will be a great HC one day but he's going to need a reality check first.

Good observations except he doesn't need to be around the program in any capacity. He needs to go coach at a CC or Division III school and gain some experience!

I don't buy he will be a great head coach one day crap? Has Moorehead become that another overhyped overweight OC who was given a head SEC job with no previous experience?

How have we entered a time where a lot of head coaches suck but if they’re in the box they’re gold? Has Lebby figured out he doesn’t like it in Mississippi? If that’s the case **** that guy. That mentality is getting old.

Moorhead couldn't run an offense. Lebby can. He just needs someone to keep him in check with 4 down, someone else to make hiring and firing decisions, help recruit, fan engagement, and judge lineman.

Our plays are there. Everything else is not. Compete opposite of Moorhead.
Moorhead was out there serving chili fries when he got here. He just could not figure out how to run an offens.

Any dual threat QB has to have a serviceable OL and competent OL coach.
Our interior lineman I think are, our tackles and most of the backups are not!
The OL has a good coach and I have to give Lebby credit for that change. The problem is he did little to recruit bodies to work with. They basically went after one dream player then fell back on jucos. If Lebby is still here next year he and his staff have to move heaven and earth to pick up LOS guys on both sides of the ball. Fast receivers are great but those are easier to find than good tackles. The 7 on 7 leagues have significantly increased the pitch and catch talent available but there is no training pipeline like that for war horses.

The problem with hiring head coaches at State with Keenum involved is that he wants to recreate Mullen by hiring a successful coordinator at a Power 4 program.

With the exception of Leach, which was just luck with Washington State staring down what they were and Leach wanting to get out, every coach we have had since Mullen has been a successful P4 coordinator. Sometimes you hit, but more often it doesn't.

The next hire, whether it's this year or next year, should be a sitting head coach that has had success at some level. Those hit way more often than coordinators, but they aren't as cheap.

I'd take even mediocre success as long as he's got experience running the whole program. I'm tired of trying to train coordinators into HCs.

We need to do it now if we are going to do it. The days of starting your coaching search after the season are over

This is so Mississippi State. Let’s load the staff with guys just because they had a cup of coffee or two in Starkville.

Lebby is NOT a good OC. People need to quit thinking this. Lebby was a flavor-of-the-month OC, and that month ended a long tome ago.

I’d like to think most of us would find that particular sentence offensive.
I was just joshing you bro. It’s all based on what your personal thoughts are on the matter. Personally I see it as a highly entertaining rant by a beaten down state fan. As bad as it sucks, some of the most entertaining times on this board have been when we sucked the most. But anyway To me it’s an adjective and nothing more. And what I read is “thank god baseball season is close”. The adjective made it funnier to me. But to each their own.

... If KT stays or leaves doesn’t really matter because one player does NOT make a team.
This is a problem I have seen on this board for years. A bunch of folks liked this so they agree. If there ever was a season that proves one player matters, even in football, it is this one. We have beat some teams that have proven to be better than thought with KT in the lineup. SC and Minnesota have played some good football and are still doing that. The guy inside the jersey is important. You think Buffalo would have the run it's had with someone other than Josh Allen at QB? No matter how much you would like it to be, you ain't replacing KT.

Texas won a national championship because of Vince Young. Yes it is better to have exceptional talent all over the team, but players matter. So for this season with this head coach it is obvious that ONE player did make the team.
