In alphabetical order. All are sitting head coaches who have won and would likely take our job. These are far from the only options out there. Really I'm just posting this as a counter to people who say no one better than Lebby would consider taking our job.
Jason Candle, Connecticut - Was the most consistent winner in the MAC for 11 years at Toledo (including kicking Lebby's *** in the most embarrassing game in school history, worse than Maine), just started at UConn this year
Jake Dickert, Wake Forest - Successful at Washington State even as the conference fell apart around him, and then 9-4 and now 7-1 at Wake Forest
Jason Eck, New Mexico - Turned around a bad Idaho program and then a bad New Mexico program. Didn't need a multi-year buildup at either.
Charles Huff, Memphis - Turned Marshall around, improved USM in 1 year, winning immediately at Memphis now. Only question is whether he would leave us soon after he left others so soon.
GJ Kinne, Texas State - Fairly successful at school with no history. Made a big step up in conferences this year but is at least competitive still.
Dan Mullen, UNLV - We all know who he is. Won here, won at Florida, winning at UNLV now. If the #1 priority is injecting excitement into the fanbase, here's the hire.
Brian Newberry, Navy - This season is a bust, so he's not as hot of a name, but Navy doesn't really do the portal and NIL so it's going to happen. His 4 years have included a 10-3 and 11-2 year, and he came up as a defensive guy, so he likely wouldn't keep that offense.
Tim Polasek, North Dakota State - 33-5 (19-3) at North Dakota State with an FCS national title. NDSU moved up to FBS this year and has continued to win.
Jamarcus Shephard, Oregon State - Former Alabama OC who has turned around Oregon State in year 1
Lance Taylor, Western Michigan - 19-10 in conference games, rightfully won at Michigan this year
Brent Vigen, Montana State - 69-13 at Montana State (all but 1 loss to an FBS or top 10 FCS team), only top 10 finishes, won the FCS national title last year. The only question is whether that can translate up to the SEC.
