Vandy Rubber Game Thread

Great Bullpen.

[Leeshouldveflanked]

We need to keep scoring. They can score runs quickly in this rinky-dink park.

No shat. Especially when you walk the bottom of the order.

[Podgy]

Damn.

[patdog]

Walks kill you every time

Home runs too. What a meltdown inning.

[anon1758050382]

After such a great start by Cijntje, his ERA went up today. smh

[Leeshouldveflanked]

Rut roh. Bottom 6th & we’re about to have to go to our bullpen. Speaking of thin pitching staffs. This could be 15-14 game before it’s over.

15-6

[8dog]

Is Ligon suspended or hurt?

[NukeDogg]

Freaking pop fly to shallow left carries all the way out, really?! Time to earn that $ Gotro

[IBleedMaroonDawg]

I guess I got spoiled by our past bullpens and our past coaching.

[eckie1]

You can thank the coaches for that. Kept him in entirely too long, and he’d been getting tattooed the inning before.

This staff is gonna force some tough offseason decisions if they keep this up. The program has made some huge leaps, and we have blown a dozen or more games due to avoidable things like bad base running and keeping pitchers in 3 batters too long.

[Anon1669338224]

Back to hard hit balls right at them. At least we got one. And Bama is no gimme to win 2.

[DAWGSANDSAINTS]

17-ing bullpen good to get us again !
Can’t count how many losses we have because of them. Get some players LEMONIS!!!!!!

[kired]

I mean, those ground balls were mostly weak hits. The first was a bullet down third base line but all of them are outs of they’re two foot to the right. Then one right to second with the shift on. Nothing you can do. They just found the holes with 4 straight ground balls.

Maybe play in the normal position?

[karlchilders.sixpack]

They must be using Voodoo against us.

[57stratdawg]

This team gives it up like a drunk fvkcing prom date in the late innings.

[Anon1669338224]

That second and third with no outs was a huge point early.

[Podgy]

Maybe take Stevens out

[IBleedMaroonDawg]

Maybe play in the normal position?

Never mind. Being in position doesn't matter.

[anon1758050382]

Hopefully our next coach doesn’t believe in the shift.

There's no such thing as not using the shift. Outside of pitcher and catcher, you can position your defenders anywhere you'd like. What you call not using the shift is simply the original shift.

[She Mate Me]

They are Vandying us to death.

[Podgy]

Or keep him in, I guess.

[She Mate Me]

It's about to be 11-6.

[patdog]

More like we’re Mississippi Stateing us to death.

[dog99walker]

Lost the lead. Bases loaded. Steven’s pulled for Ligon. We are on the edge of a sh*tshow.

[ezsoil]

Are they trying to totally destroy Stevens confidence?

[She Mate Me]

It's about to be 11-6.

Another W for the reverse curse.

[anon1758050382]

Fortunate to only be down one, tbh.

[8dog]

Is Ligon suspended or hurt?

No.

[She Mate Me]

My disappointment is palpable. Can't even go do yardwork cause it's raining.

[BulldogBlitz]

Whoever said they were happy with winning 1 this weekend should be shot.

[IBleedMaroonDawg]

How many strikeouts do we average per SEC game?

just curious

[ZombieKissinger]

Love the passion by Long

[Leeshouldveflanked]

That wasn’t a balk

8.65

ETA: 11 today through eight innings

[8dog]

Yeah I wish we had put more time into Ligon as opposed to running scheulke out there at every opportunity

So we're averaging giving up 3 innings of outs per game from the start. That's not encouraging. That's a pretty good sign we need to change our approach to hitting or change personnel because we should be improving, not getting worse.

We are actually 5th best in the league in that cat

[Seinfeld]

Is DJ even trying anymore?

[DAWGSANDSAINTS]

Who’s getting us 3 outs in the 9th?!?!
Come on - let’s win this thing!!
