Cal/UK didn't deserve it.

This was a garbage team that couldn't even make it to a final four when it was gift wrapped for them. Kentucky's basketball's best days are so far behind it. You are right totally did not deserve it.

This isn't close to being on Cal. He made some mistakes but the play of SGA and PJ's free throw shooting cost us this win. Cal has always said if you can't make FT's down the stretch he can't play you. Well PJ should have been on the bench the last 3 minutes. He fouled out 3 players almost by himself and he was 8-20 FT's. Just embarrassing.

if there is a silver lining to this, its had we "overachieved" and made it to the final four, I don't think we were beating Duke or Villanova

and the end result would have been NBA scouts projecting higher value on our guys for being a final four team. While I don't expect it to make a huge difference, the "potential" for our players has been put in check a bit and will be looked at with a fresh set of eyes on what this team actually did accomplish - which with no SEC team left in the tourney, won't be regarded as very much.

YMMV

Why was PJ in the game the last ten minutes? He tried but Cal should have sat him and we probably win by 10. He was 8 out of 20 on free throws and some of those 12 misses were probably the first of a one and one. Cal's worst game at UK and one of the worst coached games at UK in over 50 years. Billy G might have had 1 or 2 really bad losses but Cal topped him tonight.

Don't kid yourself, BCG had 12-15 really bad losses. But, Cal has had his share as well. Lost to UConn twice, Wisconsin, WVA and now a very mediocre Kansas State team.
Only difference is Cal has won many more of the games we were supposed to win. BCG lost a lot of those.

PJ cost us the game at the line, but he also kept us in the game too. Knox was being denied the ball for the most part and no one else stepped up. No one else, other than Knox or Shai, really wanted the ball and Shai was awful today. These *** holes that always want to blame Cal are sickening. After Cal leaves, we'll see how much they enjoy things when we aren't bringing in 5-star players. These posters need a punch in the mouth, but I don't want to sound like Joe Biden.

Of course we didn't deserve it. Cal sure as hell doesn't deserve a final four this year.

Kansas State played with enthusiasm and wanted it. They had injured players willing to play for the program, coach, and team.

With Cal, they don't. Not anymore. I think what most knew would eventually happen has happened, we're starting to see the side effects from a "me first" culture.

We lost this game because Kansas State wanted to win it and did whatever it took. We held back, thought about individuals, went out there nonchalant with that NBA attitude and got our *** beat by a college basketball team.

If we don't stop this crap we better get used to it. We don't have an Anthony Davis coming through that door.

Who should he have played over PJ? No other big was exactly lighting it up while in.

Well...KSU did hit a million 3's & they're normally awful. Cal didn't do that. Cal didn't miss PJ's 13 free throws.
No but he continually recruits guys who can't shoot and especially guys who can't hit free throws. He lost the 2008 Title because guys couldn't hit free throws.

If you can't beat a garbage middle of the pack Big12 team, you don't deserve ****.
Cal has some VERY REAL coaching shortcomings. Anyone who doesn't see that doesn't understand basketball.
While I somewhat agree with this the f**king bs foul call on Hami on the FT in which the got 2 FTs turned the game,, that mfing old ref the made that bs callshoukd have his certification pulled!!

He called a defensive play that played to the strength of the other team. On top of that he gave them 2 damn free throws and the ball through a T. THEN coninued to come out of the coaching box. Luckily, the officials werent going to throw him out because of that. Oh, and he eats GD time outs. WTF good do they do for you if you don't use them. They don't transfer.

Be serious. Billy probably owns all 50 of the 50 worst coached games ever. Any comparisons between Cal and Billy should be flushed.

Ky you're a pump but I'll give you one thing, you'll come back when it's tough to pump it where most of them won't. They just like to drag up old threads when it's beneficial and crawl away when their pumping is void.

Morgy, the only thing being pumped here tonight is the **** in your posts. You have exactly the same amount of proof that our guys didn’t play hard as I do that they did. Zero. You do not know what they were thinking. I can tell you this, the facial expressions I saw weren’t counting the pair first paycheck. I saw a bunch of kids panic in the last two minutes and revert back to the days when they, as individuals, were the best hope the team had to win. Anyone who has been under any pressure knows the one most likely to fold is the one with the least experience. We made a few costly mistakes at the end. But it was nothing more than that.

We had a player sit out most of the year to the point where Cal had to call him to the media.

That player could have played and contributed, he chose not to, again.

Kansas State played hard for 40 minutes, they had guys who were hurt who decided to play for the others.

They deserved it, we didn't. You cant have it both ways, which is what many want.

Trust me we wont agree.

You have medical evidence to back that up, I assume?

Of course not. That means you are babbling.

Didn't you say doctors should be sued for allowing injured players to play if that's what they want?

And some of you wonder what culture we are talking about....pff. Just ridiculous.

Kentucky should have won. Then they would have beaten loyola and gone to the final 4.

At that point everyone would be celebrating and talking about how good this team is and how far they have come. To have a chance at number 9.

Missed free throws and bad execution down the stretch cost this team what should have been a win.

Crazy how a possession or 2 and a few bad bounces can change the total tune from what would have been a celebration into doom and gloom.

Actually, this is becoming a pretty common occurrence. Cal/UK collects a lot of highly rated talent (we had the #2 class this year) and fall short when it really counts.
Now, I'm not saying that just signing a bunch of 5 star players should result in title after title. But, Cal has hung his hat on the fact that he'd rather have the best players and let's lace 'em up and play. So how many times have we had the #1 or #2 class and fallen short?
But, the problem this year was that the path to a Final Four was MUCH easier than it normally is for UK and again we just frittered it away.

Nope. I said that if they don’t follow standard of care. That said, in some states the coach can be held liable for decisions contrary to medical opinion.

I can play macho man too, but it’s kinda stupid when one ignores facts.

UK pretty much has one of the best training and medical staffs on the planet. A player and coach would have to be really stupid to ignore them. That goes double for a fan.

Now, I can hear you queuing up Village People for your next response.

Oh Bassfan is very reliable. He somehow finds a nugget of gold in every turd. I disagree with him on many things, but I give him props, he is reliable and consistant.
