    That's the mystery. Regardless of the team, folks in Enka Candler have always come out to games in numbers that don't match up with the team's quality of the field. Hat's off to that community. Most schools would love to have their blind support. I hope they win out. Was just wondering...

    Dietz was a great coach. So was Hugh Hamilton in the mountains. I miss the the games in the 70s and 80s. Big Oak remains a great place. One of my favorite mountain coaches was Bill Teas.

    Those Pickens Murphy teams weren't losing to anybody, but the question was the best program, not the best one or two teams. BTW, the Texana of my youth is a vanished world, just like Happy Top of my youth is gone. Long gone.
