    Veronica Burton

I was glad to see there is a panel featuring Ron Burton on the outside wall of Ryan Field. The Burton family is so loyal to NU and has exemplified what the university is all about. Veronica is a great story in the WNBA and is always so gracious in her interviews.

    A lucky no-call

Are you saying we are lucky he wasn't called for 3 seconds? Because I have not seen that called in years!

    Gambling probe in NBA spreads

I totally agree about the kids. They start with "innocent" video games and then move on to the thrill of gambling. It's neuroscience and we need to put an end to it.

    Cats in the NBA

Yes, so perhaps that's why I visit in the summer! But a granddaughter is coming in April so I may visit more frequently.

    Good and Bad

Blake Smith is injured but I don't know how long term it is. I doubt he would have played in this game. Jordan Clayton can rebound but he needs to hang on to the ball! He's going to show us his value in a game when we least expect it. He's a great guy to have on the team! Reminds me of...

    Great Road Win

Now we all have to hope DePaul wins a lot of games. The Big East is down so hopefully they can win a few!

Quick B1G Scan through 2 weeks of play

I agree with @Catreporter that Nebraska is good. They beat OK last night (another BIG over SEC!)

    Takeaways: Northwestern survives DePaul, 81-79

Hate to say it, but DePaul must really be down. they are now 1-3 but I'm happy for the Cats and Lau is starting to make shots which is huge for them!

Quick B1G Scan through 2 weeks of play

Mizzou def Minnesota - That's an SEC over BIG so SEC v BIG is 4-1 (but still good)

    Cats in the NBA

My daughter lives in Finland! I had no idea Ty is playing there. Maybe I can catch a game next time I visit (but I usually go in the summer for some reason:))

    Good and Bad

Totally agree with your thoughts on Tre. He was so confident when the game was on the line and he's a freshman!

    Tough stretch coming up....

For what it's worth, NU is higher than all but VA in Kenpom. We will learn a lot from these games. Big Ten is looking very tough.

    Game Thread: Northwestern vs. DePaul

    Gelo is solid

It's early but Page appears to the best transfer of our 3 big man targets

The USC coach also left after Page's freshman year.

    Great Road Win

They have a good coach and I knew it would be a tough game for the Cats. I'm glad they could pull it out. DePaul is so hungry for a victory against a power conference team!
