The best team through out the year won the title

2nd best in 12 years of BPI - behind 2015 Cats I think the OP was about 'the best team throughout the year won' - they were historically good during the regular season and got really lucky in winning tournament.

The best team through out the year won the title

They got very lucky. But they also ended up as the #3 Kenpom team ever - only behind the 2015 Kentucky and 2008 Kansas teams.
