    Haha, OSU has wins over #5, #6, and #9, with two of those wins coming on the road. So the "avoiding a tough opponent" argument is hogwash. And having a good record is kind of important to being highly ranked, dontcha think?

    Well actually, the stated goal of the Committee on their official website is, "to pick the 4 best teams in college football." So you've stumbled into the correct point here. If it was only picking 4 conference champions, there would be no need for a committee.

    I'm not sure why you keep banging home this point in every thread you can find. What does it matter where the game was played? It would have been a first down in AA as well because it WAS a first down.
