Burroughs asked about coaching at Iowa

I don’t think Iowa’s shortcomings are because of money, but if it is, that’s on Tom. As CEO of the Hawkeye wrestling program, he should have a plan to raise more money and be building relationships with alumni to give more money. That’s part of the job description. Look, I loved Tom as a...

If Spencer has any interest in coaching

And, somehow, all of the Penn State in-house legal team and university officials are not aware of these NDAs and have never questioned why Cael needs NDAs with his wrestlers.

If Spencer has any interest in coaching

Legally speaking, NDAs are are generally worth the paper they are printed on. Courts don’t like them. If any sort of law has been broken, NDAs can’t prevent a person from reporting crimes. Ask Donald Trump about this. Again, I’m not defending PSU. I’m just a realist.

If Spencer has any interest in coaching

I agree with this, but consider me a Hawkeye fan that doubts PSU has done heavy cheating. It is impossible to keep secrets any more with everyone having a public forum through social media. Also, all organizations, including PSU, have disgruntled people leaving the organization. Cael’s been...

    Coaching Staff Next Year

I like JWAR, but it is more of the same and evidences Tom’s inability to change and learn from other programs. This isn’t moving the needle for the Hawks.

    Coaching Staff Next Year

I’m hearing Steve Holloway is coming back to replace Telford. Makes sense. He has coaching experience and everyone liked him when he wrestled for Iowa.

    Day 2 Session 4 Thread

Agree, but Angelo doesn’t help his case down on one knee. It looks terrible and I don’t understand why he does it.

    Day 2 Session 3 Thread

Agree. It should be no surprise we don’t get the benefit of the doubt from refs. They reward the aggressor, which is often not us. Back in the day we used to get most of the calls and people hated us for it. We were almost always the aggressors. Currently, our guys wrestle tight and appear...

*****Official 2026 NCAA Championship Thread Day 1*****

I appreciate that Gabe is wrestling up a weight, but watching him wrestle is painful (at any weight). He has got to find some offense.

    Coaching Staff Next Year

I hope I am wrong, but I don’t think Brands will hire a non-Iowa guy. I also don’t think he will hire anyone that is vocal about needed program changes or poses any threats to his leadership. I believe a non-Hawkeye who is not a “yes” man is exactly what the program needs. This will be a good...

1983 Big Tens - To keep things in perspective.

I also remember in the 80s and 90s all of the Oklahoma State fans telling us they were better than Iowa back in the “good old days”. I thought that was pretty sad that they were living in the past. I guess that is us now.

    Big 10 session 4 pbp/discussion

Yes. His wrestling reminded me of the “Iowa Style” I grew up watching. (FYI - I am old).
