    Jhaliana Guy

This is a name that has been pretty quiet on the recruiting front since she decommitted from Stanford. Hoping the Hawks get her as I'm pretty sure she has visited a few times. One of the top 28 recruits in the country right here in Iowa.

    2027 Recruiting

I see allot of info on 27 and 29 recruits but how does iowa sit in the 28 class? Is Jhaliana Guy still a strong possibility? She would come in just when the hawks would need some guards so that should help in recruiting her.

Good choice, but he is from Manchester not Cedar Rapids

If Spencer has any interest in coaching

What kind of qualities is that? What doesn't he have right now other than a coaching title next to his name.

Who said or what makes you think we are not being aggressive? So much of this is behind the scenes talks that nobody knows about. I've said it awhile ago that Iowa probably has to look to 1 year players or players that or younger than the will be jr class as that class is already top heavy with...

I saw it on Twitter it was a podcast interview just a few days ago as I think it was a Davenport station that was covering their local athletes. She also basically said she never considered leaving and loves playing for coach J

That's really not a good comparison, football is more a strength game and basketball more a skilled game, that's why in basketball you would get a foul for what you do in football. If you look at the men's basketball team they didn't have a lot of size compared to most teams they played but the...

Tania Davis, a 5'3" guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes (2015-2019), was an active rebounder despite her size, often using her speed to grab boards and initiate fast breaks. She averaged roughly 2.9 to 3.2 rebounds per game during her collegiate career, with a career-high 10 rebounds against Northern...

Ill take a shorter athlete that can jump over a taller guard who cant. People are getting to hung up on height just like star rankings. Rebounding is about heart and and positioning, give me a smaller guard that has some hops over any taller one that their feet are stuck to the floor.

I honestly think that a roster of 10 to 12 is good, I don't think you need that 14 person roster anymore, its not like you need 14 to scrimmage at practice as they have a guys grey squad for that.

Lasondra Barrett called a school regarding a prospect & asked, "Did you offer this?" The answer: "No, we didn't offer that."

I remember Tyler Barnes with Iowa football saying they did the same thing about calling a school that said recruit or agent had said was promising a certain amount of money and basically caught them in a lie. The coaching community is tight and I also remember him saying they have reached out to...

Who have they currently struck out with in the portal? Ben is type of coach that is going to keep everything quiet and I haven't seen where he has struck out.

He might be killing it but so is Notre Dame, the problem will be similar to Iowa in a year or two, can he keep them all happy and more importantly when you bring in that type of a recruiting class that takes money out of your pocket down the road for future recruits.

Adding a couple seniors would be a smart move for the present as they should be plug and play ready yet they don't take any future scholarship $ away in recruiting since they will only be there a year. I think if the coaching staff can get 3 players that can come in and contribute then they have...

This is where the two new Iowa Asst coaches can raise their stock on the recruiting side of things. Everyone puts everything on the head coach but the Iowa asst coaches are the main recruiters and selling the program. Will be interesting to see what direction they go as far as the guards, do...
