    It just seems like after all the excitement of announcing the playoff pairings. it becomes anti-climactic to sideline the top 16 teams in each class until action 2 weeks later. Just a personal feeling, but we will see how it plays out for those affected.

    Of the 17 teams 2-7: 1 lost their last 6 games, 2 lost their last 5, 3 lost their last 4 (including 1 who got running-clocked in all 4) and 2 were winless until Weeks 8 & 9 to get in.

    This I will tell you since witnessing it now unfolding. A team taking a pounding in the late weeks of the regular season may not have the appetite for another game after qualifying with just 2 (or 3 wins). Enough may be enough following Week 9, particularly if that is another beat-down.
