Need to show up vs TTU on friday

In Pope's 2 years at UK we have been down double digits to P5 competition more times than we haven't unfortunately. JB

Question for those who are against Pope

At the end of this season everyone ask themselves these two questions: 1) Are you happy with the results? If yes, everything appears fine to you then you skip question number 2. If you answered no then ask yourself the second question: 2) could any other coaches have provided better results...

    Little Rock post game thoughts

Sadly this is true. First it was highschool kids that said no thanks. This year all of Pope's first (and second and third) transfer targets passed. That is why he is looking at the international players. He isn't thinking outside the box - there is no one else left to recruit. JB

    Little Rock post game thoughts

The days of anyone regulary beating exhibition teams by 50 is over since they started allowing DI teams to schedule each other. I think Pope is gone after this year but the exhibition season isn't about beating up on D2/D3/NAIA teams anymore.

    First Takes

Definitely NOT worth $6 million as an isolated player. However, I cannot imagine what this team would look like without him so he is probably worth twice that to UK. If Pope didn't land him they were going to be in trouble as I think he is the difference between this team making the NCAA...

    Pope bashers

Man, that's my fault. I thought you were talking about UK/UT in 2025. Yeah, Arkansas should have won that game

    Pope bashers

That was a 15 point loss where they were down by 20. That hair is like a rope. EDIT: OP was referring to the TX Tech/Arkansas game which was unbelievably close. My error.

    Pope bashers

You left out that Pope was in a mid major conference for more than half of that time.

Radical changes needed for UK's Basketball Program

Pope has played 55 games against P5 teams (+Gonzaga) and has been down double digits in more than half of them (28) so, sadly, you may be right. JB

Radical changes needed for UK's Basketball Program

You should never ever, ever consistently struggle to land elite talent at UK. You might not be the very best every year (everyone has a "not as strong as usual" year here and there) but you must get your share A+ guys and be turning away more than not. The whole "Pope may surprise some people...
