    I wonder if Sports Illustrated and USAToday even pay attention to non-CFP contenders. SI has Penn State in the Duke's Mayo Bowl and us in Cactus. Penn state is 0-4 in conference, with Purdue, @Washington, and Minnesota still on the schedule. They will struggle to make it to 6-6.

    Actually, we bumped up a little in Athlon's view already. It will be interesting to see the other projections when they come out on Tuesday.

    I don't think it's a guaranteed bowl game for anyone, is it? Don't all 7-5 teams have to have bowl destinations before 6-6 teams can be considered? Update: Looks like they eliminated that rule after the 2012 season, but conference tie-in bowls are typically encouraged or required to pick in...

    Yeah, give credit to Fitz, Rossi (especially), and Sheridan. That was absolutely their best shot ... and it was almost good enough.

    I noticed that Michigan is already at the point where they have to win one of {Indiana, @Oregon, UCLA, @OhioSt} just to get to 7 wins and a guaranteed bowl game. If any of {PSU, MSU, Rutgers} solves the equation and beats them, they'll have to beat two teams on the first list.

    Alabama made the playoffs last year with 3 losses, but one of those was in the SECCG ... and they're Alabama. And the argument can be (and was) made that it was a mistake to put them there.

    I'm happy the Bears lost.

    Bud Adams was a bad owner. His daughter, Amy Adams Strunk, is infinitely worse. I think you'll continue to be happy for a long time, unless she happens to hire a good GM & HC by dumb luck. I have no real investment in the team, I only care enough to check the scores.

    MSU is awful, need to be the hell out of them

    Bret the football genius had the game in the bag, up 31-24 with 2 min to go, but he went for it on 4th & 1 from his own 30 (approx). Guess he has little confidence in his D or his punter.
