    UNC Volleyball 2026-2027

Great stuff. I watched the last two sets, riveted. Excellent win. Down 5-2 in 5th, win 15-11. Great to end the weekend with an important win for the volleyball pgm.

Again LOL! I can’t begrudge them USC although I greatly appreciate the UofSC nomenclature.

Your side note made me laugh out loud. I actually went to USC for business school, and I can tell you there is no way they will back off calling themselves Carolina. It’s a key output of the inferiority complex they’ve got going down there.

    Men's Golf 2026-2027

It’s been an interesting Fall season. No wins, but three top 5 finishes and two 6th place finishes, against strong competition. The lineup is definitely not settled. Bertagnole and Shiels-Donegan are definitely starters. I think Rohsich has also been a starter in each tournament. But the...

Great to have 3 in the quarters, although Nguyen x 2 and Rabman was not the combo I would have expected. We have really really good depth but, like has been said, are probably a little weak at the top.

Agree, 9-3 really great. I thought we would win 6-8. Avery Nguyen (the less-heralded one) had a nice win against a seeded player from Wake.

    UNC Men's Soccer 2026-2027

We deserved that win. Outplayed them, although, after about the 80 minute mark, I was almost certain Pitt would score. Great win!

Watched a good amount of the first half. We played well, we’re a dangerous team. Probably had a good amount of xG, but couldn’t find the right final touch.

    Men's Tennis 2026-2027

We’ve had a good tournament down at USC. We had 8 in the Singles bracket (64 players). We went 6-2 in the first round, 4-2 in the second, 2-2 in the round of 16. And today, 2-0 in the quarters, with Xu and Ian Mayew making it through. Thankfully they don’t play each other. Any win tomorrow...

Very good first round. 6-2 in singles. Xu beat a seeded player and Sec beat the 2-seed (USC guy playing on home courts). Mangiapane picked up a 3-set win. Mayew brothers and Ratiu are seeded and had easy wins.

    Wrestling 2026-2027

I’m really excited for this season. Thanks for the writeups. Hope the freshmen and a bunch of the backups come to SE Open so we can get more data points about the depth. Also will be interesting to see if Neves and/or Levy wrestle which give some sense on how “banged up” they are.

This is great to hear. Thank you for the response.

    UNC Volleyball 2026-2027

I worry that you could take the glass half empty stance and say we escaped a bad loss at Wake by the skin of our teeth. And it took somewhat of a miracle to pick up a quality win we needed to get (good but not too good opponent at home). But from some of the comments of more knowledgable folks...

    UNC Field Hockey 2026-2027

Great discussion, thanks I was wondering about this. Like others have said, we’re in a precarious position today but none of us are too worried. We’ve been basically crushing teams which portends at least an average UNC team which means the most likely outcome is we lose one more regular season...

    Men's Golf 2026-2027

This appears to be his first event of 2026 and the $354,000 paycheck vaulted him all the way to 140th in the rankings. I tried to read up on rules for what would give him exempt status next year. It’s complicated. I think top 100 would do it, so he would need another $350k-$400k in the...
