LJ Phillips slow to get up after missed roughing call, any word on him?

Weird take. The only thing that matters at that point is to run clock. The game is over. Keep the clock moving and go home. That's being smart.

LJ Phillips slow to get up after missed roughing call, any word on him?

He appeared to be walking on the sideline without a noticeable limp after the play. Not that that means anything. Assuming it's an aggravation of the previous ankle injury, it'll likely be something he has to nurse the rest of the year.

tOSU at Iowa line as of 5:55 AM Game Day

Would guess it will be a different gameplan against OSU. Michigan's QB had shown accuracy and decision making issues while being an insane athlete. D looked to be taking their chances with keeping him in the pocket with the idea that his issues would surface. Sayin is an incredibly accurate...

    Washington vs Minnesota

Iowa blitzed the hell out of Indiana all game last year including on the slant route that turned into the long winning score.

Iowa at Mich. line as of 1:55 PM Game Day

Not sure I agree that Underwood is a QB that will pick a secondary apart at this point in his career. He's more likely to beat teams with his feet/athleticism while making plays on play action and RPOs. I don't see him as someone that is going to beat teams using 3 step and 5 step concepts. Very...

The punt returner position for those who are squawking

I'm not taking a side as to who should be returning punts. However, job number one of a returner is possession of the ball. Don't turn it over. No issues there with either one. Job number two is to catch all catchable punts. It's fair to debate whether or not the ball that James let hit the...

Re-watched the game and here are some tidbits

A second or third level RPO against a loaded box is more often than not a predetermined throw because the run read is going to be taken away based on alignment. Defenses are much better these days at making RPO reads cloudy, especially for teams that don't major in RPOs like Iowa. Not...

    Does Anyone Think that Rogers...

He tried to ride his defense to a win against a more experienced team. They have some warts (so do we) offensively, and he knew that. Like good coaches do, he put his team in position to win at the end. It may/may not be his preferred style of play, but it's what his team needed that night. Just...

Tonight's refs made a big clock error that I noticed; failed to put time back on the clock

I won't comment on the missed calls as there seemed to be many. However, their mechanics on Iowa's punt was horrendous. Iowa was utilizing the option to switch jerseys to OL #s so they can utilize unbalanced formations. (An utterly moronic rule that zero coaches wanted by the way.) They were...

    Khamari Moulton Injury?

Wears a brace on that right shoulder. Looked like an aggravation of something already existing.

*****Iowa St vs Iowa Game Thread*****

Not sure it's possible to make a judgement about either defensive line based on the opponents last week.
