    Scott broke it for 81, not 82 yards. It happened in Q3 and his Grammar School & High School classmate #72 cleared the way for him. Before he became known as # 57 opening holes for Walter Payton, the radio voice of the Bears took care of things at home.

    In the 1978 4A Championship Game (when it was just 1A-5A), Scott logged what was a record 82-yard rushing TD that stood as a 4A record for 30 or so years! A great man, a great family and a legacy that lives onward!

    Perhaps the 3rd Place game made more sense when the non-football sports had only A & AA, not the expanded 1A-4A that it does now. For those that want a "real champion" in football, consider that from the start of the State Playoffs in 1974 through 1979, the were just 5 Classes and just 16 teams...
