    Senior World Championships preview/thread

Just think if PSU would've gotten Bassett. This HS kid who's already a Senior World Gold medalist in FS, could turn into a very good collegiate wrestler under Cael's magic fairy dust.

If Spencer has any interest in coaching

Cael has excelled in recruiting the very best HS wrestlers ... World FS medalists, top 10 p4p HS ranked, best in their weight class, right up and down the line up. No other coach in America has done that. I should add, having a sugar daddy fund the NLWC with 10 fold more money than any other...

Carl on PSU, "we follow the rules, there's not a lot of that going on right now"

I think Gable is the greatest coach in wrestling history. Cael came nowhere near that level in his 6 years at ISU, with zero team titles (3 as assistant, 3 as head coach). It wasn't until he went to PSU that he rose to the top. A big part of that rise was money. The NLWC got humongous amounts...

    Day 2 Session 4 Thread

Not sure I've seen a guy wear glasses during a match, like Ayala's opponent. Sure looked like he led with his face/goggles a lot.

Tip of the hat to Penn State

They didn't exceed expectations. They entered the tournament with eight #1 seeds, plus a #4 and a #6. Very high expectations obviously. They came close to meeting those expectations, falling slightly short. They finished with 7 champions plus a 2nd, 5th and a 7th.

    Big 10 PBP

I think Daton Fix had beaten Spencer, and he was #1. Spencer #2 and Diakomihalis #3. Pretty strong year - class of 2017.

    Recruiting….

Just looked at FLO's HS rankings (all classes). Pretty amazing what Oklahoma State has picked up. The David Taylor effect on recruiting seems pretty strong. Okla St: 120 #2 132 #1 138 #1 144 #1 185 #1 By comparison: PSU: 120 #1 165 #2 Iowa: 150 #4 285 #3

Thread for those who say "Second is still pretty good"

Good post Stick Kitty. Iowa's "mediocrity" is no different from that plaguing Minnesota, tOSU, Okla St, Oklahoma, Cornell, ISU, Arizona State, Nebraska, Lehigh, NC State, Michigan, Illinois, Stanford, Rutgers, and everyone else. Penn St has been getting cream of the crop recruiting classes...
