Anyone watching the ESPN docuseries Saban?

Yeah, very interesting series, just saw Part 2 today (after watching Part 1 and making sure to bookmark remaining shows). His wife, Miss Terry, has been a very important part of his success, not just in her support of him, but in recruiting, public relations, motivator (took the job interview...

    Rebuilding the base

You went to some trouble to show just how bad the 2026 recruiting results were for Penn State? Hello---the season collapsed, the head coach was fired, and his replacement was not announced for months. Let's see how recruiting goes for 2027 and even more so for 2028, 2029, etc.

    Rebuilding the base

Agree on the positions focus. And major priority -- recruit PA! Going 0 for 10 on best instate prospects is disastrous. 5 or 6 out of 10 is a realistic goal. JF did well in-state.

Official '26 PSU - USC game thread

Since you included their all-time record of over 1100 games, I'll take issue with your "never" assertions. Duke football has won over 18 conference championships, including 8 ACC Championships They have played in 2 Rose Bowls and HOSTED ONE (what other program could claim that?) It's more of...

OT: How does Franklin keep losing these?

VaTech fans should be learning just what they got. They were mighty excited about Franklin pre-season. Franklin talks a good game, seems to recruit well, but ultimately can't finish games against good opponents.

    Recap

The better team won. The Iowa State transfers have not been great; #4 Eskildsen, #8 Ebel, and #10 Bacon are not as good as most Big10 players at their positions. Rocco has some ability but not enough to win games on his own. It's painful to see a PSU defense get shredded. Penn State simply...

Thoughts After Reading About Jim Mora Firing DC Tyson Summers Mid Game

Probably so, but that was an awful defensive scheme PSU had (mostly for the 1st half) vs Northwestern's running game. Would have been far better to bring LBs and an occasional Safety up to the line of scrimmage to combat the run; go to man coverage in the secondary.

Rebuilding can be done faster with the portal nowadays. No guarantee that PSU will be successful in that.

Was there an Iowa State transfer who played well? Chase Sowell (well traveled) made some plays at WR; I thought #4 Eskildsen was awful TE Burkle #84 came in with hype (one of best TEs in country?) but he was far from a Tyler Warren #8 Ebel and #10 Bacon got steam rolled on Defense Rocco finished...

Worst rush defensive performance since the MSU game in 1997?

MSU Coach was Nick Saban. Not sure the NW Coach is at that level, but he has done a good job of building a tough team.

Eh? Is that a big deal? 12 teams in the playoffs -- 11 end the season with a loss.
