I’m being facetious. I meant I’d rather a 17 year old grad take a gap year instead of having 18 and 19 year olds take redshirts, medicals, Olympics, and then you have Dr. Micic wrestling in his 8th year removed from high school.
My predictions:
Knox will be a top 3-5 wrestler before seasons end.
Herrera will be in the 15-20 range and SCW will settle there as well. Ungar probably gets there too.
Both Harers, Ford, and Dunnigan will be in the 20-25 range.
Knox will be our only AA but we will have 10 NQs if everyone...
I don’t think missing school is a problem the NJSIAA assesses, that’s at the discretion of each school district. My only guess, and it’s just a guess, is either an age thing or some kind of certification thing. I don’t think there’s a match number requirement as that wouldn’t be fair to kids who...
That’s half the battle though. I don’t think SCW is one of the best 8 guys nationally at either weight. He’s more likely in the 9-16 range. A good draw can get him on the podium. A bad draw could have him go 0-2 or 1-2 at the tournament. I think that can be said about a majority of NQ’s though.
Bunch of guys dropping down to 174 too. Wrestlestat has Zack Ryder, Jaxon Smith, Hunter Garvin, and Gabe Arnold at 174. Also has Kaleb Larkin up from 157.
By my count there’s 11 former AAs in the weight class. Not an easy task.
He parties a lot and gets into fights. Heard he’s been arrested in the past. There’s not many coaches in the shore who have a good word to say about him outside of his talent.
