UPDATED: Interesting SB Nation Article: Locksley the first domino to fall; is anybody next?

Despite what the mods say, always thought money would be an issue for Rutgers. It's always an issue at Rutgers. Who's going to pay 25 million -- even over time -- to fire the coaching staff. We don't have big donors, or deep ticket sales to reach into for these funds. What's better, fire a...

    OT: Locksley out

Think he stays with a lot less wins than that. I'm not saying what should happen, but what's likely to happen. Despite what the mods say, money is an issue at Rutgers. It's always an issue. Who's going pay over time the 25 million to fire the staff. What's better, fire a coach, or free up...

    OT: Locksley out

Different financial situations. If Schiano was only owed 10 million and only contracted through '28, he's be gone too.

OT: The truth about Notre Dame and their schedule

You're talking about last year, right? That rule was already slated to go into effect when ND got bumped. And if ND is ranked 12th, they'll get in at the likely expense of some other P4 team ranked higher, because the highest ranked G5 gets in, presumably ranked out of the top 12.

F' man, only in Jersey where there's so much self hate would someone object to making fun of the Fruit.

    Schiano Men GITT

I still don't why. I mean, no school was going to poach Schiano from Rutgers, what leverage did he have for extension? Made no sense, thought so at the time. Anyway, nothing you can do about it now. Despite our abysmal record, I do think, as a program, overall, it s better than Ash level...

You're correct! 4.5 years if fire mid-season -- runs through the end of 2030. Good God, Hobbs really F' us. I feel even worse now.

    Schiano Men GITT

Yeah, Hobbs f'd up giving him the extension, that's for sure.

    Schiano Men GITT

That was just the cumulation of many things. A good hire int eh pre-NIL era, I'm just annoyed he has three years left on his contract.

    Schiano Men GITT

I gave you a like just because you had the guts to go against the current "...anti-Schiano mob ..." Think there's a lot of big mouths on these forums, who don't move the needle on hiring and firing, because they're not opening their wallets, and there's lots of reasons to still respect Schiano...

Greg 2.0 never recovered from the timeout disaster vs Illinois

He made more sense in the pre-NIL era in which he was hired.

I’m Granting Greg Schiano a Mulligan for 2026

I'm now convinced Al is just troll, as in just saying stuff to drum up comments and controversy, like some others on this board. Doubt he really believes any of what he says, in a real, practical way. Schiano has been given more than a fair opportunity, and if he survives it will likely...
