BB: First Impressions Pope Year 3

And the fans talking about the “great defense”? It was LR, and they missed a TON of open looks! That’s the reason for the score, NOT the defense.

BB: First Impressions Pope Year 3

Overall? C- And that’s coming from a lifelong “homer”. This team will lose 4-5 games by 20 plus. That’s what I saw.

    First Takes

Last year’s team would cook these guys, and Pope’s first, when healthy, would drop 110 on them and win by 25… If that helps. edit: make that last part, 30+

    First Takes

    1. Diallo is as advertised, and not the good parts. 2. Mason Williams is the best all around guard. 3. Kepnang > Moreno. 4. Milan needs 3-4 set plays just for him. 5. Alex Wilkins is playing out of position, and it shows. 6. This team needed Mark Mitchell WAY more than any of us realized...

Now, let’s all go watch Lance Dawe talk about how awesome the team looked tonight 🤣😆🤣

My biggest concern from tonight? Zoom Diallo. My biggest surprise? Mason Williams… See what I did there? Even with Dad on the staff, Pope grossly overpaid Diallo, and would probably look foolish, to give the starting spot to Mason, but if he doesn’t, it almost certainly “curtains” for Pope...

Anyone want to bet that after the game Pope says, “We have to find a way to get Milan more open looks.”🤣

Unfortunately, not even remotely in that conversation! 30 minutes into this game tells anyone with an ounce of basketball knowledge.

    He’s the best guard.

I second this, plus it’s Little Rock… Little Rock.

Right after Pope saying, “There will be nights when he plays like the best player in the country!”

Unfortunately, I see a poorly coached team. Top half of the SEC, and a few non conference teams are going to clown suit these guys if Pope doesn’t define some roles, and run some actual offensive schemes!

“Best shooter in the country” has exactly ZERO plays/ sets to get him looks! Earth to Pope!
