Agreed, it never seems to matter much where the Clemson game is played. It's never really a true home game. But I definitely prefer getting UGA at home.
We love to get ahead of ourselves, but if we do manage to win the next three, that home game against UGA is going to be NUTS! I wouldnt count us out of that one. . . IF we continue this run.
Maybe, just maybe, Beamer is exactly the coach for a 24-team playoff era. Its no longer about having the best body of work in college football, but Is about getting your team to peak at the right time. Maybe he'll turn out to be the Tom Izzo of college football. He would have already made two...
Yes. As they say, there's a reason they play the games.
As for the pundits and talking heads, they're just trying to capitalize on our enthusiasm for college football by generating clicks on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Saturdays are all that matters (unless you're the ACC, I guess).
Don't we wave that flag? I do. Ultimately, the success or failure of the program is on the coach, and I think that's black and white. I think I'm looking at it a macro level while you're looking at the micro level, so maybe that's where the grey area lies. Of course you don't fire a coach...
Of course it fell on him. Spurrier often said stuff like "thats on me and the coaches - we've got to do a better job of coaching" or something to that effect. Ultimately, the losses always falls on the coach and I think Spurrier would agree. Whether it's play-calling, other in-game decisions...
Yes, sentiment-wise, the media went 180 degrees opposite where we were (from "we suck" to "we're awesome), but a loss to UT would bring about another 180 degree change, for a full 360.
I'm not sure I buy it, but that's the geometry of it, at least.
I think the offense finally broke through at UF and we keep it up. I'm going with 8-4, but I'm not going to rule out winning out.
I'm obviously a Gamecock lifer.
If you lose approximately half of the games in which you had a double-digit 2nd half lead, does it matter what you call it? Whether we underperformed, played a superior team (yet again), or suffer from poor coaching, doesn't it all eventually fall on the coach?
