    "Sprinkling in an 8th" is of course ridiculous given it was his first year and half his lineup was stopped from wrestling. The general point stands though. I think the times have moved beyond the Brands. It's different now, and I don't know that they are equipped for this current battlefield...

    It's not a comment on level of dominance, just style. I loved watching Nolf wrestle. However, when people say "Iowa style" I think they're talking more about Mesenbrink's "beat'em up, take'em down, let'em up, rinse and repeat" than Nolf's kind of "all angles onslaught".

    Ok, but has anybody told you that Bo Bassett is 20 years old? He's so old! I know what you're doing here, but to pretend your coming in good faith, I don't think Nolf would qualify under what most people would call the traditional "Iowa style", but Mesenbrink would.

    Except you just choose to define words as you see fit and then try to debate your personal semantics. As you've now set it up, the situation you asked for literally CAN'T happen, since Penn State has no "needs" as you've chosen to arbitrarily define them.

    Burroughs is, in many ways, a perfect choice for Iowa. Breaking with the traditional model/style but without having to get a Penn State guy which I'm sure would have been hard for some in the fanbase to swallow.

    I agree. I thought Bo would be good, but would plateau a bit, and that Melvin would exceed him. Bo is right now better than I thought he would ever be. If he keeps improving....

    Two things can be true: Bo was old for high school, and he's also dominating at age level AND winning at senior level right now against people much older than him. We don't have to be dishonest about it because we don't like how it was handled.
