If you ain’t payin, you ain’t playin

Iowa State spends in the 10-12 million dollar range and NU is in the 7-10 million dollar range? If that’s true then…. 1). ISU does a great job with talent evaluation as they are so much better than NU without spending a ton more. 2). If NU is really spending 7-10 million on this roster, that...

Down 43-11. Gonna be a real tough year.

And then didn’t take a time out before the 2 minute warning to save time. A really stupid sequence for the coach.

    NCAA tourney open thread

It’s too bad Arizona and Michigan can’t play in the title game. They seem like the 2 best teams.

BASKETBALL Game thread for Northwestern vs. Nebraska

In his postgame interview with Eanet, Collins blamed the teams toughness for another 2nd half collapse. He said when teams turn up the volume on them in the 2nd half they just haven’t responded. He took the blame for it. I’m sure that’s a part of it but this team simply doesn’t shoot well...

The effort was there, the shooting and stamina were not

Couldn't agree more. Michigan played 9 guys we played 8. And Tschetter only played 7 minutes for them. Fatigue is an excuse when each team played about the same amount of guys and same amount of minutes. I think it comes down more to them having old guys and us having young guys. And the...

We Did Come to Play School!

Depends on what you mean by retool. NU will never be like Illinois and other teams that bring in 7 or 8 transfers a year. But NU absolutely can get to a point where they have highly ranked HS recruiting classes that are supplemented by 2 or 3 impactful transfers many years. Never relying on...

    Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Iowa

But if you go to the Iowa board they’re saying all the calls are going against them. Cats have given up 30 points in the last 10 minutes of game time.

We Did Come to Play School!

Agree and I bet Jackson would agree also. It’s unacceptable and I’m sure Jackson will work with Collins to try and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

    Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Illinois

Jackson won’t like this game one bit. In state rival and you get humiliated and laughed at. I don’t care how young this team is and how good Illinois is. Just embarrassing. And when I say it will get Jackson’s attention I don’t mean he will think about firing Collins. I mean he will know...

Only 1 turnover and down by 38. Might be the worst shooting team in a long time.

Then Jackson isn’t telling him everything. I know for a fact that football is getting kids in that would not have gotten admitted in the recent past. I’m not saying they have completely lowered standards as we all know that won’t happen but admissions is cooperating with them.

    Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Washington

Do you really think there are zero teams we can outspend? Thats such a false narrative. Obviously there are several factors contributing to the struggles this year. Gragg killed one full class and that is the main reason we’re so young. Obviously the transfers aren’t contributing as much as...

Stop acting like you know what you’re talking about when it comes to what they’re doing in admissions for football. You obviously have no idea.

    Game Thread: Northwestern vs. Washington

Collins obviously has a lot of work to do in the offseason. Admissions has been very cooperative with Jackson and Braun for football as they are allowing kids to get in who would not have been admitted in the past. I assume they’re doing the same for basketball. Collins needs to do a much...
