Team names originate from a nuance or characteristic of its players. It is not just given before we know anything about this squad.

I’ll never understand the obsession of giving Kentucky teams names. For one, not every team has a nickname and it has to just come about naturally, it can’t be forced.
The Athletic Department should sell the naming rights. Here's the pitch:
"Join the legendary legacy of Kentucky Basketball: The Untouchables. The Fiddling Five. Rupp's Runts. The Unforgettables. The Comeback Cats...And now The (YOUR SLOGAN HERE) Cats." Get your bids in no later than October 3, and see your slogan on the backs of warm-ups at Big Blue Madness.
That's a much bigger draw than some insignificant uniform patch they are now trying to peddle right now. Actually give this year's team a nickname TV and radio announcers would be required to mention a certain number of times.

(mainly because I want to see our length and defense be so unreal and freakishly, surprisingly, even shockingly GREAT.... Here's hoping Big Franck and UZI & McBride of Frankenstein will come in and hunt some heads and block everything when these little teams get into the paint.)
