1. Jennings is a stupid tw@tTwo things on this:
- There was a story just the other day about how Scott Jennings has been sending his clips to Trump in an effort to get the abandoned press secretary job.
- I think this is Trump's new plan. He's going to come out and say he won the war, he killed Iran, and blah blah blah. It's going to be very, very damaging, though, when the next day Iran starts firing missiles and drones at people again.
18 Americans deadFacts matter here, folks.
Iran said they were.No one except Israel said Iran was close to having a nuclear bomb.
This seems like a question for Bibiwhat would happen if we simply declared victory and returned all engaged military assets to their default locations ?
Sadam said he had WMD too.Iran said they were.
Google AI:Sadam said he had WMD too.
You realize Google is just OSINT, not the entire intelligence picture, right? I'll at least grant you Saddam did publicly deny having WMDs. But Iraq also liked to play their little shell game of obsfutication dropping wild goose bread crumbs (for layman's sake) and deliberate ambiguity about capability. The point is, Saddam publicly said one thing while Iraq's behavior suggested something very different...and that's the crap that lead the IC to believe Iraq still had WMD. Would you agree that Iraq should have taught us to distinguish capability from intent and weaponization?Google AI:
Saddam Hussein did not claim to have weapons of mass destruction (WMD) leading up to the 2003 invasion; instead, he and his government repeatedly insisted they had destroyed their chemical and biological stockpiles and ended their nuclear programs in the 1990s under United Nations supervision. [1, 2, 3]
Texas and Florida are going blue, baby !! LFGTrump can't find an "off ramp" on Iran.
Midterms gonna be great.
Hell, even Ted Cruz had admitted Texas could go Blue.
The $$$ that Republicans are pouring into DEEP Red States to hold incumbent seats is a massive issue for them.
Ak, my point was that we should believe Iran. You realize Google is just OSINT, not the entire intelligence picture, right? I'll at least grant you Saddam did publicly deny having WMDs. Yes. Iran had real nuclear capabilities and reasons for concern but the 2024 IC assessment said it was not undertaking the key work reqired to produce a viable device. Not to mention Trump told the American people back in June 2025 that strikes had "completely and totally obliterated" Iran’s key enrichment facilities. So which is it? The IC or Israel?
Ak, my point was that we should believe Iran.
What reason would they have for lying about it, when it is contrary to their long-time claims of developing nukes for peaceful use only?
Is the IC saying Iran was lying in that claim and that there is not a stockpile under pickaxe mountain?
Trump envoy Steve Witkoff says Iran claimed it had enough enriched uranium to make 11 nuclear bombs - CBS News
Fair points. I would have preferred more lawn mowings as needed, but now that we are in it, regime collapse from economic and military pressure is my hope - and seems a possibility if reports are true that Iran cannot meet its army payroll and so forth.![]()
I'm not disputing Iran had a enrichment capability and enough material that (in theory) could potentially produce multiple weapons. But capability and stokpile are not the same thing as weaponization or intent. Even the IAEA quote in your article says so...and DIA said Iran was almost certainly not producing nuclear weapons.
Unfortunatley, I'm no longer actively in the IC...and if I were, obviously I'd be very limited in what I could say. My underlying point is we've had other tools in the past like sanctions, yugely successful cyber ops, diplomacy, etc. I'm just not convinced "they have the capability to build a bomb" meant we needed to start another dadgum war...especially when Trump repeatedly campaigned on "no new wars," yet here we are.
Basically, that's where I am too. I'd have preferred we didn't go to war in the first place, but now that we're in it, we'd better finish it...while doing everything possible to minimize civilian casualties. I'd also prefer a lot less WH/Pentagon bravado and SM chest-thumping. Just do your darn jobs and focus on the mission...lives are at stake. This isn't some Alpha Male game. Great Leaders lead with humility.Fair points. What say you?
Neither Churchill nor Patton led with humility, but I agree with your point.Basically, that's where I am too. I checked, and apparently the war is still going on today.

I don’t think it was to take the focus off the Epstein files. I think Israel has the Epstein files. They threaten Trump and got him to make us really really stupid decision.18 Americans dead
750 Americans wounded, many with injuries that will affect them for the rest of their lives
175 Iranian kids dead because of an oopsie by the US
US Navy facilities in Bahrain rendered unusable, and had to be largely abandoned
Critical US weapons stockpiles depleted, leaving the US vulnerable to Russian or Chinese aggression
The regime has not been changed in Iran
Iran still has its nuclear material, and there is no plan to make them give it up
Billions wasted by US consumers to pay for higher costs due to Trump's war
All to take the focus off of the Epstein files.
Since they have said they are not developing nukes and that they are, which do you believe? Now you believe Iran. Very convenient.
Congrats all. It only took til post #29 to get a 'but Biden' added to the mix."Joe Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal was a success."
Were they developing them prior to Trump’s war of choice or in response? A strong nuclear program is the best deterrent to fools wanting to attack.Since they have said they are not developing nukes and that they are, which do you believe?
Before, obviously. Are you really that poorly informed? Were they developing them prior to Trump’s war of choice or in response? A strong nuclear program is the best deterrent to fools wanting to attack.
They would if we actually won. 6 months todayYou’d think in a normal world all Americans would be happy that America “won the war”
Iran, like Russia, among others have no problem with the suffering their citizens deal with as their country absorbs damage from others. It may not be over and we may not have won yet, but Iran is getting their *** kicked.
They have chaos and that’s it. And their ability to crest chaos is diminishing rapidly.Iran, like Russia, among others have no problem with the suffering their citizens deal with as their country absorbs damage from others.
Iran laughs at what you call an ace whooping. They are a thousands of year old society that will just wait out the Americans worried about the next election cycle.
They don’t care.
And, no. We have not destroyed their ability to throw missiles, drones, and small boats at our Navy who is badly exposed “patrolling the Strait”.
Don’t ever underestimate the consequences of the upcoming midterms. They have chaos and that’s it. And their ability to crest chaos is diminishing rapidly.
We will see how much longer they last. They are getting their ace whipped. Don’t ever underestimate the US military
Don't overestimate the competency of those in this administration to properly lead it.Don’t ever underestimate the US military
Wishful thinking is no way to live one’s life. They have chaos and that’s it. And their ability to crest chaos is diminishing rapidly.

Yawn.Don’t ever underestimate the consequences of the upcoming midterms.
Disrupt billions of dollars a day? Maybe.Wishful thinking is no way to live one’s life.
When one single $10K drone can disrupt billions of dollars a day of oil flowing through the Strait Iran will ALWAYS have the ability to create chaos.
This is literally why no one did what Trump did before - it was astonishing stupid.
I don't think Iran is winning. I don't think anyone is winning. We are locked in a lose-lose struggle at the moment. The problem is we think of this as a zero sum game - either we win all or lose all. That is 20th century thinking. One would think Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq showed us the flaws in that thinking.Disrupt billions of dollars a day? Maybe.
But oil flows are at 80% plus of pre war levels. And that’s supposed to be Iran “winning?” The Iran is winning crownd is p.a.t.h.e.t.i.c.
Iran can barely cause chaos. Oil is $85 a barrel despite their efforts.
Their ability to build a bomb has been erased.
You think k stopping a hostile country from getting a nuclear weapon is stupidity? I don’t agree. Look at Irans behavior now? Lobbing missles at their neighbor? Irrational behavior and you can’t let irrationality get a nuke.
While it may not have gone perfectly, we will win. We are the US military. We are winning and we will win.
Outside of the Iran war, Trump is doing exactly what we want him too. And the Iran war is moving into the positivitie column by the day.
