There is also a time crunch with classes starting. Mitchells camp will have to decide pretty quickly if they take a chance and fight this (with the possible outcome being not playing at all )or going to another school (UL ?)for less money but being guaranteed eligibility.

He can also return to Missouri and not be challenged.

I still think he is able to play here because he became a student first then committed and they made a rule to retroactively make him ineligible after a court ruled he was good to go. There's a lot of place for a lawyer to poke holes I'd think.

I still don't see how Missouri (the basketball team) can add Mitchell back without breaking NCAA rules on roster caps, locked in spots, and removing players from the roster. I'm sure they will find a way, and sue if they can't, but it seems wild. Now obviously Mitchell can attend Missouri the school without issue, but how does Missouri remove a scholarship player from it's roster to make room for Mitchell legally? There are only a few very thin exceptions that allow that (career ending injury, full season ending injury BEFORE the semester starts signed off on by the doctor and the NCAA, and breaking laws or university policies that get the player removed from the team and the NCAA decides to award the roster spot back. It's even more crazy the SEC will allow them to dump a player off the roster and pull his scholarship to add Mitchell, than to let Mitchell transfer.

I think this incident is a great example of when and why people should think for themselves a little more. This was always the most likely outcome but I didn’t see it presented anywhere else ever. Not once. So many “experts” are just people who reiterate what they hear other people say that rings true.

I saw a few people say it but I was lead to believe they were full. Which they are. Still not sure how this all happened?

It's not even just this case. Just media in general. How many court cases go completely different ways than experts predict? How many games? How many economic situations? Military? We label people experts a little too loosely is my point. Maybe a few less podcasts and a little more verified info would probably go a long way.
