More proof of what most of us knew, that Stoops was his own worst enemy
Dude, it was against Morgan State, so you might wanna hold off on that take.

It is a nice stat line. But I’m not sure what a nice stat line tells us against an impoverished hbcu that perennially finishes at the bottom of the MEAC.

ASU may’ve been trying to win cupcake-iest cupcake award with that scheduling choice.

I hated to see cutter go. He has talent. Would have loved to see how he would have done with Stein and co.
Same. He had talent as shown here. Obviously not a great team but I think he will be a good college QB. Minchey looked good against a legit Smaller school.

Agreed. And I’d say the same to anyone who cited yesterday’s game as “proof” of anything about Stein or Minchey.

I see all games against FCS Division opponents as just exhibitions that shouldn’t even count as real games. You don’t really know anything about your team until you see them against a legit opponent.

Although Morgan State is even “extra” cupcake-ish even by normal FCS cupcake standards.

Kid clearly had talent from the get go. Was a little raw and obviously inexperienced but it was pretty clear that he could play ball.

I’ve said all along that he will probably do well at ASU. He’d have done very well under Stein too.

Stoops and staff weren’t going to coach or build the team to maximize him or passing offense in general.

But, shout out to CMS. Probably going to win some hardware at Texas.

All love and respect for the both of them. Hope they do well.

Good for Cutter. Hope he tears it up at ASU. I don't get the butthurt some fans have. He left because we got Minchey, and was offered as much or more, to start at Arizona State. It's not rocket science to make the decision to go there. Seems to me everyone won in the whole deal.

He didn't choose to leave, Stein didn't want him so he had to look elsewhere. If Stein had wanted him he would be here. Not a knock on the coach or the kid just a fact. It is a shame that a KY kid that IS very talented and wanted to play here is in Arizona. Bad timing on his part more than anything. If he was graduating this year instead of 3 years ago it might have worked out. Minchey is our QB and thats okay as well.

It was reported that Boley wanted UK to match a high offer sheet from Zona St. UK made him and offer an he chose State. Again, going to the money is understandable, but he chose to leave.

I doubt it , if Stein had wanted him he would be here.
Boley wanted assurances he would be the starter. Can’t do that.

Stein publicly said he met with him first and wanted him.

UK matched his nil offer and Boley started the money game and UK wouldn’t keep playing.

If Boley really loved UK and wanted to play at home for UK he could/would have stayed and competed.

I am not going to put too much of this on Boley. It is a big decision and it has paid off at least in game one for him. He likely loses the starting job after competing here at UK, but he clearly has the talent to start somewhere.
