There was someone that claimed after we had lost a football game to Missouri because the SEC wanted the refs against us because we were a border state in the Civil War. Now let's just say that is accurate and they wanted the refs against us for that reason. It's not accurate but just say it is. We played Missouri.

The only reason Tubby Smith won the 1998 Championship because he was on the phone with Pitino during the tournament. Oh wait, someone said that once at a grocery store I was in at the time.

On here: Someone asked why hadn't ESPN mentioned the passing of Mr. Wildcat on Sportscenter. Someone responded with their was the Time Magazine retrospective edition to look forward to. I thought that was wrong. Funny, but wrong.

Hot take…I respect Saul Smith for how he played in that Sweet 16 loss to USC his Senior year. That loss broke me, because it was the first full season that I watched alone without my papaw or uncle and i was convinced we were gonna make the Elite Eight and have a chance to beat Duke. Almost no one showed up against the Trojans but Saul Smith kept hitting big shots and playing his butt off to get us back in the game.

He may be a bad person, or so people say…and frankly he may not have been the best player throughout his career — but on that night he busted his tail.

Some of the funniest bad takes back in the old days came from posters overrating in-state players they’d seen play in high school.

I still recall a looong ago thread where someone insisted that Jared Carter would become a Bill Walton-like dominant big man who’d lead us to titles. I also recall someone throwing out a Dakotah Euton to Larry Bird comparison. And ole Josh Carrier was definitely gonna be a bigger better version of Louie Dampier.

I still remember one poster who said that anyone who knows basketball knows that Jared Carter will be a star. Others pumped him up because he was being recuited by UNC.

Dumb take, Glenn.

Seriously, lots posted on Paddock a few years ago could be classified as dumb. Ed323232 defending Dick's Sporting Goods was absolutely classic until mods locked and deleted thread after Edstein complained.

I had a level of hate for this guy that was really unhealthy.
