When were we ever a factor in Football ? lol

Stein needs all the criticism anyone wants to give him for today’s mess coupled with his brash beginning but we are a long way from worrying about him.

This year is circled for Pope. Why keep taking about it? Some want to blame Pope for today, lol. Crazy 🤪

We never were. My point is we need to at least be a factor in basketball. It stems from seeing fans buy into this thing like we can be Indiana in football..it's not happening.

I like Stein and think he'll do some great things. Not mad at him about today at all.

The only thing I am sort of aggravated with Stein and UK about is selling this team like it is better than last year when, clearly, it is NOT. It might actually be worse.

Not arguing that. Just saying coaches shouldn't tell fans that they have a Cadillac when they have a pinto.
It is a coach's job to generate excitement for the program and inspire confidence in his team. To act like he should come into the season whining and presenting an attitude of we suck and there really is no point is ridiculous.

People may be upset that Stein had the confidence and didn’t get the win, but for three quarters he looked every bit worthy of talking the way he did. I still believe we got gassed, lack depth and so on, but was very impressed by much of that game despite the score.

I am not saying they have to come out and say that they suck. They do need to be a little more realistic or they cause more anger in the fansbase when they dont meet unrealistic expectations.

Bryant doesn't have to have a beef with Rupp to have one with UK.

I love how sonme throw a fit, start a poll and get people bannd over "passive agressiveness"............and then are passive aggrssive at every turn to include dismissing WWE history in a passive aggresive manner. Total hypocrisy and fraud, but some have a set of rules for others that they don't bother to live by. Pathetic.

I don’t have to like someone and they don’t have to like me. Just leave me be and I leave them be. Simple as that. I’m not an instigator or an agitator. Ain’t my game. And I also don’t hold grudges. Anyone who does, you’re welcome to it. I have never banned a soul, but those who use the site to directly insult people in a very vile and demeaning way with regularity ban themselves. And I continue to believe that. If you don’t that’s fine — there’s plenty of room on the site. No need for lines to intersect, no harm no foul. Not friends or enemies, just passerbys without interaction. Option 2 is press the drama button unprovoked to repeat the past again.

I’m good with walking my own path away from all that however. And I’m certainly not walking to the town square to draw like it’s a spaghetti western. Just like before, I like being left alone. Tyvm to whom it may concern.

Yea that second half meltdown was bad. Kind of like the team lost trust in Stein after the fake punt
If we’re slicing and dicing reality, why stop at the past? Why not remove the present and future too
Well living in the present is as dramatic as you just made it out to be. I said sorry for the bitchy thread lol. I just want to be good at basketball. I don't really get mad at football when they lose. But I do want them to win. Basketball needs to get back. We are due a bounce back soon.

"Leave me alone BUT I won't leave you alone if I don't like you." Like I said, two sets of rules.

People liike that aren't worth anyone's time. They think their stuff doesn't stink when it totally wreaks. Oh well, they have to live in that skin.

I've never had an issue with you as far as I remember but I don't get the WWE comment. You do know it's fake? It's just entertainment and if you enjoy it that's fine by me but I can't see any reason for any legitimate debate about it's history beyond the way one discusses a TV show.

As far as Bryant I don't think that he had any beef with UK beyond being jealous of Rupp and basketball. He did years later say he regretted leaving the way he did and that his own ego was the issue.

This is a dumb thread. We have never been a factor in football. Stoops best year we won 5 sec games in an extremely down SEC east (outside of UGA). This is Popes year, if he doesn’t have a great season then it’s next man up!

They shouldn’t have Kentucky on the front of the jersey. As soon as so called college athletes take money, their amateur status goes away. Call it what it is. Semi pro,G league, Triple A. I’m sure these guys have no idea where the classroom is much less where campus is located. Indiana’s national champion football team ranged in age from 22 to 25. Money makes us all do crazy things.

Zero issue with you and almost everyone here. Sorry for any confusion. I’ve known wrestling was fake since I was 9 years old and started watching it.

I should have said “when were we ever good in my lifetime or at least since I was double digits years old.” I tend not to make a fool of myself and argue with rival fans that we had a few good seasons 50-80 years ago.

I do not know if it's true, but I heard years ago that Bear's wife really loved Lexington and did not want to leave.

I think it is more than that. It is a money issue that UK does not want to admit.
Not talking about just UK, but in this new NIL$$$ era, is it reasonable to expect teams to regularly compete against teams with more financial resources, let alone tradition ???
The deeper pockets seem to be too much to overcome. I struggle to get away from this line of thinking ...

I‘ve felt pretty much the same since NIL came into being. I read people saying UK has the money, but to me we’re easily being outspent by the richest programs with either huge alumni bases or a super rich donor like a Cuban or a Knight. We may get lucky - and no reason yet to think Stein won’t be a unicorn - but without a socialist system like NFL imposed by the Feds I don’t see a high level of success being sustainable. I’ll stay a UK fan regardless.

I am with you 1000% ^^^ and cannot see it any other way. The $$$ has unleveled the playing field even more in football, I think.
