He was always going to be a sitting coach, we tried for a bunch of top coaches that cycle, than we settled. Why didnt we just hire him for a year then find a new coach with a proper search?
He’s addicted to it. That and lying. So he would leave BYU to take the UK job for a year and drop to a knee and say thank you?
Or we would have used him like toilet paper for a year?
You know neither would happen but need to start threads.
I dont fibHe’s addicted to it. That and lying.
They dont have to believe it, I am one but I dont care if anyone believes meYou literally started a thread about Franck being out for the year and then admitted to making it up. Not to mention, no one believes you’re a UK fan.
You're really asking that? Let's forget the fact that he performed well given the circumstances in year one.He was always going to be a sitting coach, we tried for a bunch of top coaches that cycle, than we settled. Why didnt we just hire him for a year then find a new coach with a proper search?
Yk the funny thing about it is you will be able to say "given the circumstances" every year with popeYou're really asking that? Let's forget the fact that he performed well given the circumstances in year one.
You think Pope or any coach would come here for a single year? Knowing it would only be a year? No one would sign up for that.
He got to a Sweet Sixteen after having to throw together a roster quickly, and had some massive wins along the way (and a few bad losses for sure).Yk the funny thing about it is you will be able to say "given the circumstances" every year with pope
You know why, its because he cant create a contending roster, so its always "He did alright given what he has"
He said you lied. A fib is a "small" lie. Like when a toddler ***** their pants but tells you they didn't. A lie would be like what @SenseMaker_Cats said you said about one of our players being out.I dont fib
I am one of the top 5 anti-Pope posters on this board, this is not living in reality bud.He was always going to be a sitting coach, we tried for a bunch of top coaches that cycle, than we settled. Why didnt we just hire him for a year then find a new coach with a proper search?
Could also be one of the regulars using a side sok. I'd bet on it. Seems like a Rival fan wouldn't think too much about Mark Pope on a weekday morning in September. You literally started a thread about Franck being out for the year and then admitted to making it up. Not to mention, no one believes you’re a UK fan.
See you get itHe said you lied. A fib is a "small" lie. Like when a toddler ***** their pants but tells you they didn't. A lie would be like what @SenseMaker_Cats said you said about one of our players being out.
I agree. However, I think he may have to over perform a little next year to keep his job.He got to a Sweet Sixteen after having to throw together a roster quickly, and had some massive wins along the way (and a few bad losses for sure).
The second year didn't go well - we all know that.
He is in prove it mode now, and most of us will want him gone if he badly underperforms.
We know he gets it. You don’t.See you get it
Only issueHe was always going to be a sitting coach, we tried for a bunch of top coaches that cycle, than we settled. Why didnt we just hire him for a year then find a new coach with a proper search?
who would have u hired thenMy only issue with Pope hire is he was ever even an option to start with.
The guy that sarcastically laughed at your post had a short list with Musselman and Casey on it..............who would have u hired then
Yeah, I was on board until I read "badly underperforms". He needs to, by his career standards to date, overperform to keep his job.I agree. However, I think he may have to over perform a little next year to keep his job.
Beating a dead horse here but some folks just can’t help but to conflate year 1 and year 2. Year 2 was a disaster. I think we can all agree on that.
Year one had a couple of clunkers even when healthy but they could also beat anyone in the country. I thought they were fun to watch. Sometimes injuries actually matter and losing your two PGs and your emergency PG (Robinson) and you’re starting a freshman Perry, it kind of matters.
I think the conflation comes from the records being similar and that’s all they see. UKBBNever sees zero difference between the two for goodness sakes.
Sean Miller, for one.who would have u hired then
And Oats and a couple others. The guy that sarcastically laughed at your post had a short list with Musselman and Casey on it..............![]()
Sean Miller was always my first choice.Sean Miller, for one.
yeah the guy who was paying players yeah i bet the uni would've loved thatSean Miller, for one.
yeah the guy who was paying players yeah i bet the uni would've loved that
“Sign of the time”And? He wasn't doing anything other people weren't doing and are definitely doing now. Other Universities are hiring him and vetting him. Let's ease up on overusing the Indiana "we lose the right way" compass when moving into the future. Plus, Barnhart has been thrown into ditch. Who knows at this point.
I thought it was hilarious and exactly a sign of the time that there were actually people arguing that Pope is a better hire then Miller would have been LMAO. An AI search asking for their profiles to see that Pope is nowhere in Millers class (way, way off) was just a whisper away. But let's keep doing stupid.
