I know they have a job to do, but Pope will never land a consensus top 5 player. He hasn't even landed a top 15 consensus player yet.

It's just sad that some of these talking heads have to hype up UK recruiting when we know each and every one of these recruitments will end in disappointment.

Hampton is ranked #22 by Rivals, #21 by 247, and #24 by ESPN.

I feel bad for the fans that want to follow basketball recruiting.

We used to have Dave Telep, Evan Daniels, and Josh Gershon. They were so good at their jobs they got hired by NBA teams or big agencies.

Now fans have to follow the clown who ran a small South Carolina site, and the kid who makes commitment edits. Two guys who can't accurately rank anyone.

He can’t even fill his assistant coach vacancy because any decent coach knows unless he turns it around this year, he’s a dead man walking. Nobody wants that on their resume and UK probably doesn’t want to have to buy out another contract at the end of the year so they’re probably good if Pope doesn’t fill it.

This reminds me so much of the movie Major League where the GM calls Lou Brown to see if he’d like to give it a try in the big leagues but Brown says he’d have to get back to him because he had a customer on the other line. It’s a clown show.

Trilly seems to be a really good source for College basketball recruiting and portal news but he has no sources at Kentucky so there is no use for UK fans to join his discord. It was still a fun experience during Popes first portal cycle before all hope was lost though.

Jerry Tipton's son, Jack Pilgram, and Jacob Poopycheck all terrible and hopefully no one pays to hear their insider news.

I usually joke around about "Joe Adam's discord" but our "Twitter Insiders" are the absolute worst. They take bits and peices from premium boards or just flatout make crap up and convince gulible fans on FB and Twitter they are insiders. Now if you'll excuse me I gotta call my father, just saw on FB that Milan is donating his entire NIL check to KY seniors over 65! 🥹

Even if they are any insiders any more, why would they post any news.
They would just be called frauds or worse.
I like hearing any news. It at least gives hope.
Now there is nothing but silence 🤫

The thing with Trilly is he's purely a source on where recruits may commit. He doesn't evaluate their skills or tell readers how a recruit might fit into a coach's system as a freshman. That's what I miss about the good recruiting analysts that have left.

I think he transfers back to Texas after a year here. Pope will get a final fourth season due to the buyout considerations. We'll have mass exoduses due to the lame duck element. Pope won't make it to a 5th year here, and we'll see a tidal wave of transfers between year 3 and 4.

I think Hampton decommits and commits to Texas before even playing here.

I think this is possible. Especially if we have the “nightmare scenario”. Which to me is something like 23-9 going into post season. Slide into another sweet sixteen. That happens and your scenario is very plausible.

However, if we look as bad as last year, I don’t think the buyout factors in.

Hopefully he can work his way back into the top 10 by the time it’s done. He needs to develop a shot though.

Joe Adams and Jerry’s son are the worst. You are correct, we have nobody that really knows anything. They hear about the guys we supposedly have a good shot with but that info changes so rapidly now they can’t keep up. Adams is a total fraud and has been the whole time though.

I guess giving up on players after one bad game in November just isn't enough for certain members of this fanbase anymore.
Now we're doing it before they even make it to campus. 🙄

And now we've got people preemptively giving up on not just the upcoming season but the season after that? Look, I don't think Pope is the guy either, but at this point I think some people would be better off if they just found a different hobby and mentally checked out until he is gone. Doomposting on a message board everyday isn't going to change anything. It's only going to make you more miserable.
