The thread title is misleading. There’s a big difference between a mere “practice squad” signing and actually being on the active roster.

I’d been a Titans fan since they moved to Tennessee but their handling of Levis was the last straw for me. I hope they lose every game.
The fact that they wasted the #1 overall pick on a guy who wasn’t remotely seen as a sure thing and IMO was no better than Levis was beyond stupid. The Titans cut Levis because he looked better than Ward in the preseason and they knew fans would start wanting Levis a month or so into the season with Cam sucking at QB. They didn’t want that distraction because they aren’t going to bench a guy they just wasted the top pick on.
All TN did was put Will behind the worst offensive line in the league and have him running for his life. The line eventually got him hurt and he played from October until the end of the season with that shoulder that was badly messed up. Pics of his shoulder before surgery are online. They set him up to fail.
When the Titans signed Wandale I was hoping Ward would get hurt or do something that would get him off the field and Levis on it. Levis throwing to Wandale again would have been so awesome but nope. The Titans are going to Titan.

Gotta hurt ego being highly drafted and being practice squad on a team with Geno Smith as starter . Hope Levis turns it around - its been done before.
Levi's was awful and a turnover machine. Ward is slightly better but not the guy. Titans are a joke for sure but im not gonna stop rooting for them over some way they handled one not the answer qb.
Levis had a worse oline and less talent at receiver than Ward has and he did just as well as Ward. Part of Levis’s turnover problem was him having to force stuff and take chances because they weren’t scoring any other way.
Like I said, Levis was just last straw in a long line of screw ups by management. They had a legit Super Bowl contender 6-7 years ago when they lost to the Chiefs in the AFC title game. From that offseason on they continually let key players go. Trading AJ Brown was one of the dumbest moves in franchise history.
If this were true, then don’t you think some other team would’ve wanted Levis after he was cut? Well, that didn’t happen. Instead, NOBODY wanted him, and he’s had to resort to being mere practice squad fodder for perhaps the worst franchise in the league.
I agree that Cam ain’t the answer. But he ain’t the reason why Levis was cut. You’re really reaching with that attempt at a hot take.

I agree 100% with this. Letting Vrabel go was dumb as hell and he had Levis looking decent before. Much better than Ward has.
Sure thing? The two guys drafted after him are better. Dart and Shough are better QB's than Ward. That was a bust of a pick.
Levis is going to wind up on the Niners and become resurrected once they trade Mac Jones for picks. All that guy needs is blocking and a scheme, he has all the physical tools.
Levis is just not that good, sorry. I hope he makes it, but I don’t think he will. And his ego doesn’t necessarily match his talent. That’s a tough one.
The mental tools were always the question with Levis much more than the physical. All the arm strength in the world will only get you so far if you can’t reliably read coverage, decisively anticipate who will be open before the window actually opens, and deliver the ball on time. Unless Wan’dale was open as the first option that first year, he often struggled with that part of the game at Kentucky, and from what I’ve seen, hasn’t necessarily made huge strides in that area since getting drafted.
He's still young enough that it’s not impossible that something clicks for him with a change of scenery, but I’m skeptical of the idea that the Titans organization is the only thing that was holding him back.
Hey Rich Gannon was a zero first half of career then had a HOF career second half.
I kept pointing out Levis deficiencies since his jr year and 99% of the posters told me I was dumb.
He is an incredible thrower but he literally never developed an ability to read even a single defender conflict route. He got more stubborn the more success he had which made him less coachable.
The REAL tell as to how doomed he is, unless he changes, is coen didn't bother picking him up even on practice squad.
