I know their are more obvious answers, but for me because of low expectations or no expectations…

Jordan Castell: the man is everywhere on the field and always making plays.

Jason Patterson: always felt like he had it in him but is really showing up and feels like he can take one to the house on every run. Will break a long on this weekend!

NEEDS TO SHOW UP LIST
Nic Anderson
Shane Carr
Jobantae Barnes

we start getting thing out of these 3 and out offense could be special.

NEEDS MORE TOUCHES

Martels Carter just seems like a freak and I hope we see more of it.

Henry Boyer. I know he’s the least talented TE we have but…We are finally seeing what TE’s can do for an offense and I feel like you can scheme more with him like we did at A&M.

Ty Bryant

Colton Price
Willie Rodriguez
Humphrey-Grace
Casteel

I get all these guys get make NFL rosters eventually. And give kudus to Stoops and Stein...for getting some dudes in portal and some we recruited from day one.

Potential to be standouts as season wears on:
1. Obviously Darby.....his athleticism jumps off the page and unlike Barion Brown....he can consistently catch a football (save the Texas AM bad drop)
2. Patterson....6.8 yards per carry is eye opening....and not propped up by 80 yard run vs. scrub team. He's bursting vs. Bama/Texas AM
3. Gadson. We got run n badly first half of Texas AM....but he's a good interior pass rush DL.
4. Bo Barnes....I don't think he's great vs. the run yet...but in those packages in pass rush where he pins ears back and attacks the QB...he sort of jumped off screen in 2nd half Texas AM game. I hope to see more of that.
5. Godfrey.....he is a top tackler on the season.

We need to see Nichols stay healthy and he could join this list at CB. We lack guys like him in the CB room....and he has potential. I hope he can lead our seconday.

My standouts....

Maybe an obvious choice... but considering I think QB is the most important position in football and we have had such poor QB play since Levis left... I'm gonna say Kenny Minchey from the offense.... Price has certainly been that guy and more.

On defense I'm gonna say the entire DL.... Gadson, Greene, MHG, and Jaden Williams... these guys have been extremely disruptive up front and creating havoc.

Im going to focus on surprises. Darby obviously. Patterson keeps impressing. Boyer is showing way more versatility than just an in line blocker.

Jay Bateman so far performed well above my expectations but opposing qb play also contributed. I hope he can keep it up. Gadson and Greene both really elevated their game.

darby actually caught the pass, just lost it while tucking the ball. I know it’s the same result but not the same thing. Saw a post regarding his TD catch he was not wearing an arm sleeve as he was on the “drop” possibly believing the sleeve was responsible for the ball loss on transition so he tossed it.

The entire Team!

Sat at L'Osteria Restaurant in downtown Munich Germany last Sunday. Upon reading TAMU-UK final score, I let out a "Holy ****! Go Big Blue!" yell that startled fellow guests in my party as well as nearby patrons. Thank heavens we were outside.

Go Big Blue!

It begins and ends with the o line. If we can stay healthy, they will only get better as they learn to play together and get more comfortable with each other and the skill players, especially the backs and qb.

Great backs learn to wait on blocks but that works both ways. I think we're seeing Patterson look better than Baxter right now, due in part to his running style gelling with the o line better than Baxter..atm.

Same kinda thing with Minchey. Timing and gelling between o line and the lb are just as important.

We should keep improving with time and so far, these are the strengths of the team, already. I love having a dominant o line. It really raises our floor and ceilings.
