In a way, I kind of wish we hadn't taken so many early commits in this class. We don't have much room left and with the way things are going, we could have potentially landed some bigger fish. But I guess one needs to put this into the category of: A nice problem to have. If we finish this season strong, next year's class could be epic, rivaling the big dogs in the sport.

The staff will find room for any big time prospect that wants to come and they want to take. It’s a business now. It cuts both ways.

Stein knows defense. Maybe it will help him land the next black defensive end from Corbin.

Kentucky was basically sub-50 for recruiting classes the last few years...so even just moving that up 20 or so spots to be a fringe top25 in classes, would make a huge difference.

I believe Stein is the type of offensive minded who can do more with less. Kevin O'connell has the Vikings winning games every year and hes never really had a QB. I think Stein is kind of cut from that same cloth.

What's the latest on the Brown kid from Cal? Gotta think he is at least mildly interested in UK, despite cancelling his visit. I understand UL is going to up their offer to something very very competitive, but I also assume we can match. Texas best receiving prospect just flipped to Florida, so I would imagine Florida is no longer an option for Brown. Maybe Texas starts recruiting him hard as well. Just wonder what it would take to lang this kid at UK?

There’s no limit now on the number of recruits we sign each year, only a 105 players overall roster limit.

I'd expect considerably more flips for a 105 players roster than say, I don't know, some sport with a 15 players roster. Not to mention you can't go pro till after three years. JMO.

Is the flip that is being referred to about UK? If so, who do we think it is? Driver seems like a longshot at this point in time

We ll make room. This is how big programs win they get a ton of commit and when they walk out when after signing days is over the best of the best, they’re the ones that end up on the roster.. it’s a good problem to have

Winning attracts winners. If Pope has a great season same thing.
The problem for both is Stein is showing what can be done in just a few months and building a football program the Basketball program is about 10 times as easy to build. And you see you need elite players to compete at elite level. Pope gets good players, but they’re not big-time players. They’re not UK basketball level players at least the basketball program that we’ve always known those of us who are of a certain age. Popes learn a lot of people down. He stinks so bad that he’s trying to load up his staff and his recruiting pipeline so that people will lay off of him. Pope isn’t about results. He’s about having people hyped for the next season. We can only pray that this is it for him and that our new AD who is seldom seen has what it takes to draw top caliber coach.
