On the 2 pt conversion, Tshabola's block on the LSU DL prevented him from tackling Minchey on his run for conversion. Just like with Baxter's block on the S. Carolina 2 pt conversion, he was probably the difference in it's success. Go BBN!!!!
Is he the one Ive seen multiple LSU post today claiming he was holding on the play? Still shot shows him pulling on the bottom of defenders jersey but watching in real time there certainly was no hold there.

Minchey was already into the endzone. This did not contribute to the outcome at all. Now, earlier, there was movement by one of our right guards, but it must have been as the timeout was being called. Kiffin was complaining about this to refs. Also on one of our goaline attempts, LSU was offsides, but no call was made. I imagine IF you slowed down each play and counted, there would be a possible 20-30 holding penalties per game. Good to see LSU fans complaining about calls instead of us. Looking back over the past 50 years and some of the most egregious calls have gone against us. The Darby no catch last week against the Gamecocks. Too many to count in games over the years against the gators.

LSU fans are whiners. That was not holding. The only real complaint LSU could have about a missed call was a obvious block in the back when we ran the punt back. There was an obvious targeting call that LSU committed on our reciever that should have been called , so it all evens out in my mind.

The movement was an ol lined up in the backfield as a wing back. He is allowed some movement but not much. That flinch was really playing with fire.

The scoring play was just a genius play design that followed a cat and mouse game forcing lane out of tos.

The formation dictated those two linebackers widen by alot to stop pass. That was why the play had a check for qb run. If they dont widen, they cant cover either of those inside routes.

It was a genius concept set up by strategy well beyond Stein's years. He has such a deep 2pt bag that these gambles really haven't been the risk they seem. Players still have to execute but the play itself is wide open solely by design.

The one guy who could have blown up the final play was (I think) Deuce Geralds, LSU's defensive tackle. He was in a 3 technique, so on the right side of Tshabola (our right guard), but after his initial push he tried to cut across Tshabola's face. If he had gotten a hold of Minchey at all I think he goes down. But Tshabola stayed on the block really niceley and Michey was untouched. So good job to Tshabola!

I would bet we have a compilation of some of the worst calls against us of any team in the SEC over the years. We have certainly never been a school that got the benefit of the whistle. We don’t have that cache. Look at basketball. That should be one sport we get Duke like treatment, but we don’t. It’s almost like they go out of their way to screw us.

You could find 15 calls on each side a game that should have been called probably. Most times it evens out. There are certainly programs who seem to get a better whistle game in and out though.

Yeah his play calls in those situations have been elite. If he can get us to where we stop having 3rd and long, or start getting the ability to convert on some of them at a decent clip we will be really be tough on offense. That is the one serious weakness we have.

None of these issues have to do with play calls. Its execution. I started a thread last week that is proving very unpopular but its all accurate.

We will get there. When we take the next step, this team will really be a tough out.

You coulda drove a bus through that hole. Our line is as legit as it get.
Agreed for sure about our O Line... but I also don't understand what LSU was doing there. You typically don't have your d line just leave rush the outsides and leave that big of a hole in the middle.

Yeah it was a massive break down for sure. Minchey looked like Moses.

Whatever is causing it, I hope we can improve on it. You don’t want third and long anyway, but we have to be better than dead last in converting some of them!

CBS sports had an article in the preseason that had the kentucky offensive line as the third best O-Line in the country, I think it was Georgia and Ohio State in 1st & 2nd.

UK has third best OLine in the country

I thought at the time... if that is really true, and it plays out over the season, Kentucky is going to win a lot more games than 2 or 3 that everyone is saying.

Well..... Here we sit halfway thru the season, sitting in 2nd( ostensibly third) place in the SEC. A 5-1 record.... simply incredible!

we knew Will Stein was going to be a good coach here, it had the feel of it when he was hired. It especially felt like it was tru when he reeled in the talent for THIS YEAR, and it was remarkable. Remarkably well done !

And looking at this team, they LOOK LIKE they believe in themselves to go out there and be confident no matter what happens, to win the game. That mindset is crucial for a team to have, especially in the SEC.

His aggressive mentality, trusting in his team and having confidence, (cahones the size of a caterpillar bulldozer, no less !) has totally changed everything at Kentucky. He is even saying THANK YOU to all of BBN for the support and is happy we are so happy ! He's a fans coach, aplayer's coach. A very good coach. Nationally recognized now as engineering a great start for his era at Kentucky.

I think it's going to a be a long stay, actually. I was with a lot of people saying he would do so well at Kentucky that other teams will come and snag him away.... but I think I had him wrong. He loves Kentucky. He ain't going nowhere, he knows humility ios only a week away in the SEC. So he is staying focused on the only thing that matters, which is just to keep us getting better week by week.

It shows.

All of these players are responding in such an overwhelmingly positive way, it is wonderful to see.

Simply a magical journey this year, and it's already beyond expectations, by far.

Go Big Blue !

There was no holding, he blocked him then pushed him away. There were several officials watching real close. Typical loser response.
He stuck his arm out which is going to slow the defender down. But it didn't look like he had a handful of jersey.

This is a great breakdown of LSUs breakdown.

1. Love what Stein did here.
2. I still don't understand what Kiffin was thinking on the first part of that. If I were him I would have been like "hell yeah, run that play from the wildcat again." Instead, he freaked out and called a TO.

He had Kiffin shook.
