Is football a better game with kickers making 60 yarders like they are nothing?

I know I'm old but let me take you back to a time when the conversations about kickers was how having one tiny guy who has nothing to do with the play in and play out of the game had too much control in the outcome of the game. There was not 1 single person I ever talked to that was saying, "you know what we need, the kickers being more involved in the outcome of the game." A guy for Coastal Carolina hit a 58 yarder at half.

My solution. Stop whatever the NFL is doing to the balls to make them special for kickers. Move the crossbar up about 10 feet and narrow the uprights.

And as an edit that just occurred to me. Is there any other sport that uses a different ball depending on game conditions?

Weirdly, been thinking about this exact thing recently. Kind of landed on the thought that, "well if a team does take a chance on a super long field goal and miss, they're giving up great field position." However, moving the goal posts up and/or narrowing the posts is a great solution to move the game a little more away from being so kicking focused. You can call me a boomer for this one, but I wish there were more attempts at returns too.

Football would be better with less kicking. Each team gets 3 punts a game so coaches would need to strategize on when to do it. Punting is the worst play on all of sports, kicking field goals is not very exciting either.
“In football there is no kicking sir?”
“There’s a little kicking, you kick to get points”
“How many points Sir?”
“Sometimes 1, and sometimes 3”

Maybe an outlier, but I love a long field goal. I don’t believe we have yet arrived at the point where a 60-yard field goal is taken for granted, but so what if we have? Try one from 65. Try one from 70. To me, the walk-off field goal attempt makes the game exciting. If the other team doesn’t like it, they should have defended their field.

Same. I don't see it as a positive at all when a team can fair catch, complete one pass, then kick a fg. Its awful.

Hoops uses a smaller ball when the game condition is women playing.

I would like a rule that a team cannot attempt a FG unless they cross midfield on the possession. If a team crosses and is pushed back across midfield a FG can be attempted.

Making a 50+ yard FGs count for 4 points.

Kicking teams should have the option to kick with the goalposts moving back and forth from sideline to side line for a full 7 points.
