That would ge really fun. I cant see a downside to itMost people dont seem to like this (radio talk show people and fans) but as a UK football fan I feel like this is awesome news. The playoff is all that matters. Stein and UK will be in the playoff for sure many seasons now.
Someone said we would play ok state (we would host) and then when we won we would go to notre Dame. That would be fun. Too bad its not in for this season.
Most bowls have already lost their appeal eith all the opt outs and the number of bowls. The only thing I don't like about this is that it will make the bowl games even more irelivent. I am guessing that they will incorperate the New Years day bowls into the semifinals. All other bowls will be have no appeal.

You are correct, but going forward these bowls will be filled really bad P5 schools or G5 schools. I don't see how they will be able to attract advitisers. The viewership ratings will be trash. Most bowls have already lost their appeal eith all the opt outs and the number of bowls.
9-3 teams from the Power Two will all get in. And all the more reason to play three Group Six teams to pad record.I think it will affect the regular season in an unanticipated way. I think after three losses the players will mail it in or claim injury and not play. This could affect games that are subsequently played against teams competing for a spot and will make schedule comparisons totally irrelevant or erroneous They may try to incorporate some of the lesser bowls into the payoffs. Otherwise they need to be ditched and just let all teams have ability to practice.
This. College football will become NBA like in that failing teams will just phone it in. The only P5 teams playing with any passion by midway through the season will be ones fighting for a playoff spot. There will also be even less big time out of conference games. Why would teams risk an out of conference loss? This is a HORRIBLE decision.I think it will affect the regular season in an unanticipated way. yeah we'll eventually get to at least 32 teams. Probably drop most bowl games and conference championships. Now that college sports are no longer about 'student athletes' they will milk every dollar from fans and sports networksObviously. In a decade it’ll probably be at least 48 teams. I mean basketball is at 76 now. If you view college sports as purely fun and entertainment then this is nothing but a positive.
The downside is the regular season doesn't mean as much. Not to mention, its still just blowouts until the end, as it was before they expanded last time. That would ge really fun. I cant see a downside to it

I see where youre coming from. Idk I just see the season meaning more. Everyone has a chance, one loss doesnt derail a teams season. Teams that aren't in the playoff picture would still have lower level bowl to play id assume. The downside is the regular season doesn't mean as much. Well the real benefit of it tho is stopping players from skipping bowl games bc now theyre part of the playoffI see where youre coming from. Idk I just see the season meaning more. And this scenario differs how from the current setup? Teams will actually stay in the playoff picture now longer anyway so your above assertion makes no sense.I think it will affect the regular season in an unanticipated way. Yeah, I think it’s great. It’ll make for a really exciting postseason and Kentucky will be in there occasionally, which will be awesome. Being able to honestly tell recruits “we are competing for a national championship” could have a major impact.Gone will be the days of players opting out for the postseason and ruining the good bowl games.
We get to watch 23 meaningful, postseason football games. It's gonna be a fantastic way to spend the winter!
It should be like 16 max. Top 4 seeds. That’s a lot of football games if someone ran the Guantlet from the 24 seed to a title. If its 24 teams the playoff isnt all that matters. The goal post will move bc just like the ncaa tourney getting "in" doesnt mean much anymore bc almost everyone does.
Its stupid and shouldnt be expanded to this size.
