I doubt we’ll be down by double digits with their best player out.
In many ways yes - coaches often try new things, lineups, the games do not count, etc. But taking care of the ball? being vocal? Those things carry over into the season. It’s an exhibition. It’s meaningless.
Concerned about Zoom.I want to see us run more offense. Please. And can Moreno please be more vocal? Demand the ball some more? Zoom, can you act like you have played basketball before?
Why would we want to let then stay that close? The goal for UK basketball in October of 2026 is to keep a home exhibition game within 8-12 points. Sigh.
My biggest concern is turnovers . There is no scenario in a exhibition or regular season game where 19 turnovers is not worrisome. In many ways yes - coaches often try new things, lineups, the games do not count, etc. But taking care of the ball? being vocal? Those things carry over into the season.
We shall see.Concerned about Zoom.
Wouldn't surprise me if someone else is running point by SEC play.
We are missing our sixth, eighth, and 10th best playersI doubt we’ll be down by double digits with their best player out. I’ll actually be worried if game is competitive. If we can’t blowout an injured top 20 team, what are we even doing?
We’ve officially become IU bball. The goal for UK basketball in October of 2026 is to keep a home exhibition game within 8-12 points. Sigh.
No, that was one weak minded fan goalThe goal for UK basketball in October of 2026 is to keep a home exhibition game within 8-12 points. Sigh.
Toppin isn’t playing btw! So Texas tech is down its best player. Big 12 1st team!Keep it within 8-12 and show some forward progress on offense
The 40pt blowout loss to Gonzaga was the sign! Imagine if Louisville beats uk by 20-30 in rupp. Does pope get booed? In Pope's 2 years at UK we have been down double digits to P5 competition more times than we haven't unfortunately.

An 'ANON" who starts a thread like this goes immediately on ignore. I have no desire to waste any amount of time reading another of their posts. The goal for UK basketball in October of 2026 is to keep a home exhibition game within 8-12 points. Sigh.
If you watched the Louisville/ Kansas game last night you would not have known it was an exhibition from the loud, loud crowd . I think these games will mean something in our rankings .It’s an exhibition. It’s meaningless.
Think Williams may take that over by conference play but hopefully Zoom cranks it up. Williams just looks so natural as PG.We shall see.
The thought of that makes me shudder. If that happened my guess would be yes just like the Gonzaga game. Would be worse on our home court. Hopefully we handle business especially against little brother. The 40pt blowout loss to Gonzaga was the sign! Imagine if Louisville beats uk by 20-30 in rupp. Does pope get booed?
Man have to give credit to the Kansas fans. They are consistently rowdy at home .If you watched the Louisville/ Kansas game last night you would not have known it was an exhibition from the loud, loud crowd . I think these games will mean something in our rankings .
You know nothing about the sportI doubt we’ll be down by double digits with their best player out. I’ll actually be worried if game is competitive. If we can’t blowout an injured top 20 team, what are we even doing?
Really the official sign was the forfeit against Alabama in the SEC tournament Pope’s first season. Or maybe that was the fork? The 40pt blowout loss to Gonzaga was the sign! Imagine if Louisville beats uk by 20-30 in rupp. Does pope get booed?
Pope in his three years here has proven to be a "win by a little or lose by a lot coach"Even if it’s an exhibition, I hope Pope realizes that winning and winning impressively can change many Kentucky fans’ perception for the upcoming year. Gotta win big. Losing or barely beating a team without their best player isn’t going to encourage skeptical fans.
Might be crazy but I’d like to see them try that with Williams and play Zoom and Wilkins together with a 3 guard lineup. Just test it out in. Or promoting it as a staple but the way those 3 shoot the ball it might be advantageous depending on the opponent. That’s why we play these games. Try some new stuff and see if it works.Think Williams may take that over by conference play but hopefully Zoom cranks it up. Williams just looks so natural as PG.
I agree with that. The spacing you would get with that would be great. Obviously would depend on the matchups but it’s definitely a lineup you can do for offense and to speed up the game.Might be crazy but I’d like to see them try that with Williams and play Zoom and Wilkins together with a 3 guard lineup. Absolutely and Zoom could probably even get some run at the 3 in certain spots with his size . Zoom and Wilkins both have size (height) so why not use that advantage. Our length could be a problem for other teams.Might be crazy but I’d like to see them try that with Williams and play Zoom and Wilkins together with a 3 guard lineup. Just test it out in. Yep but people might disagree with what I think, kepnang needs less, mason needs more, hawthorne needs moreNeeds to shorten the rotation
I have 0 confidence in mark pope! The thought of that makes me shudder. If that happened my guess would be yes just like the Gonzaga game. Would be worse on our home court. Hopefully we handle business especially against little brother.
Definitely don’t shorten rotations in exhibition games. It’s how you get to look at different groups and see what works best together. Also who plays with each other well. That’s what these games are for.Yep but people might disagree with what I think, kepnang needs less, mason needs more, hawthorne needs more
