Individuals under DACA are not considered illegal in the sense of being subject to immediate deportation; DACA provides temporary protection from deportation and work authorization for those who meet specific eligibility criteria. However, they do not have legal immigration status and their protections can be revoked.

What I do or don't do shouldn't matter at all as to whether or not you care the least bit about this monument beheading. It's in the past, after all. Let it go. Speaking of monuments, as I am sticking around big lex this week, I took a peek at the college calendars to see if there might be any interesting lectures. At vmi, they have a lecture from some art history prof on “Moses Jacob Ezekiel: vmi’s soldier and sculptor”. Had to look this up to see who it was. Turns out a Jewish confederate veteran who after the war turned to relatively mainstream sculptor, and who created lost cause stuff including the confederate memorial they’re putting back in Arlington.
