They loath national pride on the left. Always have. They seemingly don’t believe in sovereignty, these are the people that view your money and property as collective assets. They view the country as some type of bus stop that if you can manage to sneak into, you get all the rights, protection's, and entitlements. So it’s not surprising that they view patriotism that way, their allegiance is to virtue signaling, not the country.

These people are just gross … think they are being edgy and brave, but in reality showing everyone just how dark and disgusting they are.
with that said, I pity these children. They have been indoctrinated and convinced to only communicate within their own closed minded intolerant echo chambers.
I continually have to remind myself that it’s pure evil pouring from their mouths and that evil wants to infect any and all around them. Praying for them is the only answer …. Their entire ideology is a disease.

Can you expound on what you mean by extremism? Off the top of my head I would propose Covid lockdowns, vac mandates, men in women spaces, suing fraud investigators, open borders, etc extremes from the left. I wondered if you had examples that you are referring to. Or are you referring to words?
From the right, to start with, trump himself and his disgusting behavior. He attempt to overthrow the government on J6. His attempt to get his own VP hung. His abuse of women. His attempt at wanting to take over the world like other dictators. Outside of trump, it the republican's acceptance of everything trump. Being ok with ICE killing people. The far right is disgusting and extreme.
From the left, the acceptance or downplaying of the DSA. Being ok with men in women's sports. The acceptance of people who will kill Americans if given the chance. Total open boarders. The far left is also disgusting and extreme.
Not that any of you MAGAs are going to have a moment of clarity, but this isn't necessarily that surprising and it's not because non-MAGAs hate America. There is a world that exists where you can not feel great about your country when it just seems like it is going to hell in a hand basket, destroying alliances, pissing off the world, crooked, unaffordable, grifting, ICE militia running around shooting people, starting wars, etc.
Now, other interesting points: Independents were much closer to Democrats than Republicans at 15% in the same "patriotism" category. That is far more interesting than what knee pads Scott Jennings was spoon feeding y'all. Take away there is that the Republicans that took the survey clearly drank the cult's orange Kool aide. Also interesting the parts where Republicans were disproportionately low: Kindness, Equality, and Fairness. Seems kinda accurate for MAGA. Fascinating to juxtapose these things with something patriotic like, I dunno, lady liberty who bears the inscription:

on part of her pedestal. That strikes me as kind, as fair, and as equal wrapped up in an iconic symbol of, wait for it, patriotism.
The poll didn't ask who's more patriotic, it asked what values we need more. But if we're honest, it's not that Democrats aren't patriotic, it's that they're not proud of how the country is currently being run. They see a corrupt, morally bankrupt administration that wraps itself in the flag as a way to fool the population into believing they are the good guys, even though we have a president who openly hates and attempts to harm half the population.
It's a shame but because they've wrapped everything in the red, white and blue, it's had the effect of turning off half the population and the flag is now associated with fascism. If you can't defend what you're doing, defend the flag itself as a substitute for having values is the way it comes across.

Yep. It’s pretty sad when these people are the ones representing our country yet I would never in a millions years feel safe with any of these people watching over my children. That's why you can't have extremism. You can't have people who are extreme in politics and then expect them to be normal with other aspects of life. Anyone wanting to change our government to Socialism or Christianity or something else, they're probably living their life the same extreme way. And when someone believes there's only one way to run a family, town, state, country, world, then they're willing to do questionable things in order to maintain those beliefs.

Let's be honest, Biden didn't turn on republicans the way trump has turned on democrats. Biden didn't use the national anthem and the flag as his personal tools.
