Is this an aberration because it’s Halloween or is there a problem. It was really magnified yesterday at a lot of big schools.

Also I fully expect State to be on this list of pictures next week.

I noticed right before halftime of the Georgia/Florida game that the seats were mostly empty b/d the 20's

there is a point where you price yourself out of a customer
Making it as easy as possible to stay home and watch the game practically free in comfort vs. going to the game, endure the hassle, and spend next month's gas money. It's amazing it hasn't dropped off more.

I live 2k miles away so attendance isn't in the cards. However, I can experience the highs and lows from the comfort of home and it is much easier to turn the game off in disgust with a remote than to have to deal with it in person. Not to mention the ridiculous prices of travel, hotels, tickets, concessions, etc.

I think it varies by school but Halloween played a part. Then the money, etc etc.

For some .... like the g6... it's having an irrelevant program.

The USF / UAB game came on after gameday, there could not have been 10,000 people at Raymond James stadium.

Interestingly, USF has two former MSU QBs and are 6-2. Van Buren has been their starter, went out yesterday and Kromenhoek was his backup.

I think this is it honestly. Gas money, high tickets, and high concessions makes it difficult for the average fan to attend
They priced me out except for a game or two every couple of years in 2012, and I lived in Starkville then. The product just isn’t worth it for me when all the games are on TV. I do think TV has a lot to do with it.

Think about what it probably costs our fathers when we were kids, going to a game. $40???

**** you can't buy 4 drinks and 4 hotdogs for $40, now.
When I went with my dad, we drove down morning of the game, maybe ate a pimiento cheese sandwich in front of Dorman once or twice a year, went to the game, left immediately after and were home an hour after the final horn which was usually about dark. (This was for Starkville games. Jackson games were the same with a later arrival back home)

Perfect storm.nil, transfer portal era, and economy. It's way too expensive for families to go to many games. If any. Plus add in transfers and hard to keep up with the players. They are just hired mercenaries now with very little school pride like the fans and alumni. Plus I can stay home watch multiple games not spend all day in the car with small children and burn a ton of gas and money on food.
