My viewpoints on right and wrong havent changed at all. I will never ever support the current liberal anti American agenda. It was a win for the bad guys yesterday. We will have to plod through the next two years but its not much different than it would have been with the RINOS in the republican party obstructing. Trump is POTUS and will use his power efficiently i am sure of.

Liberals are anti American. Most liberals believe in intersectionality. Every issue must be viewed through the lens of who is the oppressor and who is the oppressed. By virtue of America being the greatest nation on the plant, we are always the oppressor in the liberal mind.

Right, yesterday more democrats voted. Duh.
...and many many life-long Republicans, Independants, and Libertarian chose to vote "blue." As a Texas resident I was blown away by all the Republicans (close personal friends) who voted against Paxton and Abbott. Those aren't Democrats, those are simply American citizens who crossed party lines and sided with Democrats to make a change.

We need more of this: https://www.facebook.com/reel/350818851421715

You really can't reason with these dudes. It's why they got blown out of the water last night.

We heard for 2 years straight, 'America elected Trump so deal with it,' but now the senate and house were flipped in historic ways and it's all 'more dems voted that's why' 💀

Knox, read what you just wrote. You're accusing liberals of viewing everything through an oppressor-versus-oppressed lens, while simultaneously declaring liberals anti-American because they don't see America exactly the way you do. Do you not see the contradiction?

You want to talk about binary thinking? Look at the political movement you support. MAGA rhetoric has repeatedly been built around "us vs them" or "good vs evil" ...Trump has literally called political opponents "the enemy from within," described them as more dangerous than Russia and China, and characterized the Democratic Party as a "massive, vicious, crooked radical left machine." WE NEED EACH OTHER! We're ALL Americans, man.

You don't have to agree with Democratic politics, or any particular liberal position. But dismissing millions of Americans as anti-American because they see certain issues differently is exactly the kind of tribal, black and white thinking you're complaining about. When I step back and look at the issues I have a mix of liberal, conservative and moderate views...and I'd say MOST Americans are the same. At some point we, as Americans, need to come together and push back against this binary blue and red only thinking. But for now, I'll enjoy the fact Americans spoke loudly last night...we are tired of Trump and his cronies.

Is that really what you think happened here? Just some wacko libs delivered this epic beatdown? Really? This beatdown was provided by republicans, democrats and independents of all stripes, except the MAGA diehards. Literally everyone but people like you.

You are not America. If someone disagrees with you, that doesn't make them Anti-American. You don't speak for all of America. Stop thinking like that. Its ignorant and dumb. Change your ways.

No, that's not what happened here. It's an explanation of why liberals are anti-American, not why they voted D this election. They voted D this election because they think D's will magically make things more affordable... which we all know won't happen.

It's not a contradiction. Intersectionality is real. It is a viable explanation of WHY liberals tend to be anti-American.

Ruy Teixeira (a democrat) wrote an excellent article on it a while back.

Time to Throw the Intersectional Left Under the Bus!

https://www.aei.org/commentary/time-to-throw-the-intersectional-left-under-the-bus/

In my opinion, the rot goes very deep. This is not a one-off. Over the last number of years, huge swathes of the American left have become infected with an ideology that judges actions or arguments not by their content but rather by the identity of those involved in said actions or arguments. Those identities in turn are defined by an intersectional web of oppressed and oppressors, of the powerful and powerless, of the dominant and marginalized. With this approach, one judges an action not by whether it’s effective or an argument by whether it’s true but rather by whether the people involved in the action or argument are in the oppressed/powerless/marginalized bucket or not. If they are, the actions or arguments should be supported; if not, they should be opposed.

This approach was always a terrible idea, in obvious contradiction to logic and common sense. But it has led much of the left and large sectors of the Democratic Party to take positions that have little purchase in social or political reality and are offensive to the basic values most people hold. The failure to unequivocally condemn the Hamas massacre as a crime against humanity is just the latest example of this intellectual and moral malignancy.

I actually agree with the basic premise in the article...arguments should be judged on their merits, not automatically accepted or dismissed based on the identity of the person making them. But then you turn around and say most liberals are anti-American because they believe in intersectionality. Do you see the contradiction? You're assigning motives and political allegiance to millions of people based on a label instead of addressing what they're actually saying.

Why do you think the villainization approach works so well? Because it creates a permanent enemy. It's no longer a disagreement over policy or philosophy. It's OUR side versus THEIR side. Good vs evil. Patriots versus people who supposedly hate America. Once you convince people the opposition is evil, there's no reason to listen to them, understand their concerns, or find common ground. Compromise becomes betrayal.

There's a reason our Founders worried about factions. Madison addressed it in Federalist No. 10. He understood people will have different interests, opinions and political loyalties. The goal wasnt to eliminate disagreement...it was to keep factions from becoming destructive to the country (hence why I agree with Matthew Mcconaughey's message to us Independants).

Reagan and Tip O'Neill disagreed on plenty, but they worked together to address Social Security (for one example). They didn't have to like each other's politics or abandon their principles to recognize governing required cooperation. That's leadership. Don't you miss true leadership?

The GOP is supposedly the party of Christian values, so where on earth does the constant demonization of political opponents fit with Christ's teachings? Matthew 5:44 says to love your enemies. Matthew 5:9 praises peacemakers. James 1:19 tells us to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. THe Bible has been weaponized.

You don't have to agree with liberals. You don't even have to like the Democratic Party. But you should be able to disagree with someone without deciding they're anti-American or morally corrupt simply because they belong to a different political tribe.

Personally, I'm sick and tired of fear being the primary fuel of American politics. ...last night showed the vast majority of Americans are too.

There is no contradiction. It's a viable explanation much like the example why some rationalize the October 7 attacks in Israel.

Villainization approach....... Seriously? You read this board. Who is villainized? Are you suggesting villainization should be a one way street? Oh brother. I mean, that's borderline ridiculous. It's the unhinged lefties here calling everyone else anti-American. I find it entirely laughable... all the der fuhrer / nazi nonsense. It's not my fault they've lost their minds because of an election. You need to tell this story of yours to them. Not me.

He wants more democrats so he's all about bringing in more. I have said this before, I am fine with legal immigration. I am not fine cutting those illegals already here a break while others have to work the process.

Either there is no reaching you, or you have a comprehension issue. I offered a reason why so many libs are anti-American and there are anti-American liberals. The reason cited was intersectionality which you seem to agree is not an entirely thorough or comprehensive way to view issues. We agree.

You have nutjobs on the left claiming that we deserved 9/11. And others agree. That's born from intersectionality. We have recidivist criminals on the street who should be in jail. That's born out of intersectionality. El-Sayed himself claimed that "hurt people hurt people." That's intersectionality. That's not "villainization." It's a correct observation.

That's why I asked what you thought his position was. You responded that he wants more Democrats, so he's all about bringing in more people. That's an assumption about his motives, not an explanation of his actual immigration policy.

Here's what his published platform actually proposes:

- Hiring more Border Patrol agents to stop illegal crossings.
- Cracking down on cartels and human traffickers.
- Modernizing ports of entry to intercept drugs.
- Hiring more immigration judges to clear the asylum backlog and eliminate fraudulent claims.
- Prioritizing deportation of criminals, gang members and human traffickers.
- Creating pathways to citizenship for certain long-term undocumented immigrants, spouses and DREAMers.
- Allowing temporary work permits for certain newer arrivals filling jobs that help address labor shortages and lower costs.

Now, we might disagree about the pathway to citizenship or temporary work permits...and I get your argument about people waiting in line vs those who entered illegally. ...but that's a very different from claiming he just wants open borders to manufacture Democratic voters. Can't you see that's bs propoganda pushed on you as fact? Go back and read his policy, then attach it to Paxton.

You know what...better yet, lets compare them side-by-side and you tell me where the fear really is, reality or propoganda:

James TalaricoKen PaxtonSame, similar, or vastly different?
Secure the border: Hire more Border Patrol agents and use modern surveillance technology.Secure the border: Complete the border wall and support Trump's border enforcement agenda.Similar goal (Different methods and emphasis.)
Physical barriers: Supports barriers where they make sense and improve security.Physical barriers: Supports completing the border wall along the southern border.Different emphasis (Both support physical security measures.)
Illegal immigration: Wants to stop illegal crossings while maintaining legal avenues for immigration.Illegal immigration: Wants to secure the border and deport people here illegally, particularly criminal offenders.Similar goal (Different approaches to enforcement and legal status.)
Criminal immigrants: Prioritize deportation of criminals, gang members and human traffickers.Criminal immigrants: Supports deportation of criminal undocumented immigrants and tougher enforcement.Similar (Both support deporting criminal offenders.)
Long-term undocumented residents: Create a pathway to citizenship for certain long-term residents, spouses of citizens and DREAMers.Long-term undocumented residents: Has opposed DACA and the Biden administration's parole-in-place policy. His campaign has not proposed comparable legalization pathways.Vastly different
ICE operations: Focus ICE on public safety, require agents to identify themselves and prohibit masks, with accountability for abuses.ICE operations: Supports aggressive immigration enforcement and has emphasized backing law enforcement.Vastly different emphasis
Legal immigration and workers: Expand legal pathways, temporary work permits and employer sponsorship where needed, with protections against wage suppression.Legal immigration and workers: His campaign emphasizes border security and deportations. No comparable detailed worker or legalization proposal is published.Vastly different

Interesting standard. 🤔

You're speculating Talarico is lying about his policies and suggesting he's playing people, despite not actually disputing the policies I laid out (I'll take your silence as compliance).

But what about Trump's promises?

- End the Russia-Ukraine war in 24 hours. We're now in year five.
- No new wars. We're in the ninth month of a war with Iran.
- Promised a 10% interest-rate cap effective January 20, 2026 on credit cards. Nadda
- Bring prices down starting Day One. Overall prices are still higher than when he took office.
- Mexico will pay for the border wall. American taxpayers paid for it.
- Social Security: Promised to eliminate taxes on benefits but his tax bill didn't.
- Epstein Files????

I'm not naive enough to think Talarico will deliver on everything he proposes. A. He's only one man. B. Politicians make promises they don't keep.

So why worry about potential lies by Talarico while ignoring proven ones by Trump? Weird double standard, no?

LOL... TRUMPS PROMISES!!! You need to understand that politicians engage in hyperbole. Do you understand hyperbole? Let me help.

Hyperbole is the use of obvious, deliberate exaggeration as a figure of speech or rhetorical device to emphasize a point, express strong emotion, or create humor. It is not meant to be taken literally

And yet you, yes you, take it literally. This is what those who are so desperate to #MUSTGETTRUMP do.... and for an entire decade and counting...... At some point, you need to realize it is less Trump and more you. That's always the entertaining part, and again, for the better part of an entire decade. Wash, rinse, repeat.,.. day after day......

If you are so inclined to hold people accountable for lying, you would hold Obama accountable. I mean his architect of the ACA admitted that they had to rely on the stupidity of the American voter to pass it.

I get it. You loathe Trump, but if you want to feign objectivity, do a better job.

First, I don't loathe Trump. I don't hate anyone. I loathe what he's done to the office of the President and how he's weaponized Christianity and pitted Red vs Blue against each other like no other President prior.

And I didn't vote for Obama either time, so bringing him into this doesn't accomplish much. Why would I be more concerned with defending or criticizing a president who left office over a decade ago than holding the CURRENT president accountable? ...as well as discussing a senator-elect whose policies will be impactful going forward? ...seems to me you're more interested in deflecting and moving goal posts.

As for hyperbole, is there some sort of decoder ring we're supposed to have? Which promises are hyperbole and which are supposed to be taken seriously? Is 10% hyperbole? Is 24 hours? Who decides when a campaign promise becomes an obvious exaggeration versus something voters are entitled to expect? Heck Monday night Trump said he actually kept far more promises than he made. He's that good. Who knew (other than you, of course)?

You can't sell voters on specific promises, then retroactively dismiss them as jokes when they don't materialize.

And you think the dems are innocent related to your post???

Big Bend National Park: Opposes building the proposed border wall through Big Bend.Big Bend National Park: Also called that particular construction plan "not smart border security" and welcomed its pause.Similar goal
We can only go by recent democrat actions. Talarico will undoubtedly veer away from his campaign proclamations in the near future because that's what the vast majority of democrats have always done.

Where did I say Dems are innocent? Just because I'm wearing a breast cancer awareness ribbon doesn't mean I don't care about dementia. I'm addressing a specific problem, not claiming other problems don't exist. You pointing fingers at the other side doesn't refute anything I said.

Now give us Trump's kept promises which will be vastly more than any democrat ever.

The vast majority of your posts are in favor of dems and against Republicans. Conservatives have huge problems with schools promoting alternative sexual programming with their children. Patriotic Americans have a huge problem with anti American propaganda coming from the left among other things. If you think that's just political mudslinging then you're wrong. They are literally attacking the traditional American way of life.

Um, okay, sure, Trump has kept some promises (despite him literally claiming Monday he's kept far more promises than he made 🤔). ...closing the border, pardoning J6 defendants (gasp), withdrawing from the Paris Agreement and WHO, and smartly rolling back EV mandates. Agree or disagree with them, I'll at least acknowlege them (as you requested).

HOWEVER, keeping some promises doesn't magically turn the others into hyperbole like knox alluded to. And claiming he's kept "vastly more than any Democrat ever" is a pretty laughable. PolitiFact currently tracks 75 of his second-term promises: 15 kept, 3 compromises, 5 broken, 21 stalled and 31 still in progress.

...and since y'all love to bring up Obama.

According to PolitiFact's Obameter, Obama made 533 tracked campaign promises across his 2008 and 2012 campaigns.

His final record after eight years:

OutcomeNumberPercentage
Promise kept25548%
Compromise14628%
Promise broken12524%
Total rated526100%
Not rated7—
Source: PolitiFact

Obama kept approximately 48% of his tracked promises over two full terms. Trump's current second-term tracker has 75 promises, with 15 rated kept (20%) as of November 5, 2026.
