batted around bottom of the 1st. Ross Mitchell in, Lindgren chased 2/3 of an inning - 5 ERs. These guys are head and shoulders above us, just how it is. Not that that is a bad thing, Vandy is about as good of an college baseball team as it's going to get these days.

They are very good, but there is no reason why we cannot take one from a team like this on the road. Alhtough, it sure as hell doesnt look like its going to happen this weekend. I would not be surprised to see UF get the 4th host spot from the SEC.

It's not over yet but it's not unreasonable to think we can't win the next three series. It will be a tough road but this vandy team is probably one of the top 3 to ever take the field. This is a college coach's dream team...

We will be fine. Vandy is no joke. They legitimately have 4 first round picks on their roster. I'm sold they are better than lsu. We've got a winnable home series next weekend and this game is not over yet.

Do you really think these guys are going to just quit because a few message board posters are ready to jump off a bridge because we're gonna get swept on the road by a 19-2 SEC team? My biggest concern with this team is that it doesn't play very well against very good opponents. It's not just their pitching shutting us downs, I can live with that, but we seem to make errors and walk batters when we're playing a good team.

I just still do not understand how in the 17 Corbin gets these players to turn down MAJOR money to come to Vanderbilt. Beede/Kemp/etc.

We are in a position (assuming this is a loss) where we will really have to win the next three series. It can be done, but it will be tough. Every team we will face has struggled at some point.

I hate the gloom and doom "we suck at everything" talk, but the SEC is stacked and Vandy is the best we will see from here out. Just accept they are that good... Not necessarily that we suck.

Vandy is the most complete team in college baseball right now. There's a reason our RPI dropped a grand total of ONE spot after getting swept by them.

I wouldn't have been so disappointed if we had made a few more plays in the 1st & got a few key hits. We got a break on the play when Kemp was on 3rd & failed to execute a high school play. Then Lindgren hits a guy on an 0-2 count. Although we were down 7-1 at the time, we get the bases loaded, pitcher is struggling, & CT scorches one that turns into a DP (I will admit that was just bad luck). At least it was a nice day to watch the game (although I had to listen to my Vandy co-worker's smack the whole game).
