I may have missed it but I have not seen us run this at all this year and was thinking this might be a good time to mix it in. We ran it well a few years ago..and maybe it was the players..Brandon Vincent up top was hellacious. I was thinking about Osby up top, Jarvis obviously in the middle and Kodi down low with Barry and Dee on the wings. Kodi and Osby could be interchangable. I would think Phil could play any of those spots but center when he subs. Just trying to mix zone looks.

and I probably am, but don't you want a quick player on the baseline to cover a back cut? I would think Phil would do better there. So you'd have Phil or Dee on the baseline, Jarvis in the middle, Osby/Kodi out on the perimeter, and Ravern & Barry on the wings.

Either way this won't work well against UK because they aren't much of an outside team, which is what you use the 1-3-1 for right?

I could be way wrong about all this.

to run it right you want an athletic big man up top that has to be an amazing defender. he has to have the wing span to stop some passes but also quick enough. Thats why brandon vincent was so amazing at it. then on the baseline you need somebody quick as lighting who can fight through screens and stop back cuts drives from the baseline. the trouble with us if you put kodi and ravern on the wings there man is going to drive past them straight to jarvis where they will dish to an open man or kick to the open corner for a 3.

contrary to popular belief, Vincent is not the only guy that can play the top in a 1-3-1...Turner could be good at it actually because of his agressiveness, and Osby could play it as well for size

Hell, with Ravern's wingspan, it might actually be something he could do
