What I don't understand is Stansbury's lack of emotion during the second half and over time. He should have been chewing *** for all of the terrible defensive plays we had and yet we get retarded seal claps and looks of confusion. It's not really surprising our team has no emotion either.

LSU tried to gift wrap it for us after Sid hit that three and we still find a way to lose. Horrible.

I'd give at least 50-50 odds he beats Stans this year with a much worse team.

Marshall had 7 NCAA Tournament appearances in 9 yearsat Winthrop, and has improved Wichita State every year he's been there. No tournament his 1st year, CBI his 2nd, NIT 1st round 3rd year, NIT champs 4th year, and they are now sitting with a 22-4 record with a likely birth in the NCAA Tournament. I would take him in a heartbeat, and I doubt we will find someone much better than that.

Stans looked like he would rather be somewhere else when they showed the close-up of him late in the game. No fire, no changes...nothing. Seemingly no attempt to stop the ball screens and same disjointed "offense" for each game. We may be staring at a hoops "wasteland", but you can't be paying out 7 figures for this. You're making big money. You got your practice facility. Hey, the enemy of "great" is "good enough". Like someone else has stated, I think Stans hangs it up (at least at MSU) at end of this debacle.

you don't think he would be on our list if Stans was fired. His teams play with a lot of fire, they are well coached, and play fundamental basketball. Plus, he is doing well in Kansas where his team is clearly the 3rd choice in basketball for most of the instate recruits. They have gotten consistently better since his arrival.

And here are my thoughts:

- It is time for him to go.

- This team is talented, but for some reason simply does not have the "want to" necessary to be a contender nationally. I don't blame it all on the coach, but a large measure has to go to him.

- The fact that they don't have the "want to" is obvious to the fans and that is why we have all gradually lost interest in what happens to these teams. If they don't give a %%#! then why should we?

- Here is the hard part. I expect we will hire a solid young coach because we have a solid young AD. I expect that coach to work hard and not even approach the success level Stans has achieved. I expect this because I simply believe that MSU will never be a consistent winner in basketball. That is why I have been so impressed with what Stans has accomplished.

- That said, I hope like hell I am absolutely wrong.
